Forbidden Psalm is a tabletop miniatures game, inspired by and compatible with MÖRK BORG.

Forbidden Psalm is a 28mm miniatures agnostic game. You can use any miniatures you already own that fit the bill or build custom minis for this game (with random tables to help you determine how to build them). Solo Play and Coop rules included. All content is also able to be used in the MÖRK BORG ttrpg.

In Forbidden Psalm you will recruit a warband of 5 greedy souls to undertake Vriprix the Mad Wizards’ bidding. But the Mad Wizard hasn’t just bet on you. You will face rivals before you will seen any of his coin. Hunt ravenous monsters and unearth dangerous relics as you search for the Psalm itself....maybe even help the Mad Wizard locate his misplaced socks.

A game of blood. Metal and death. In Forbidden Psalm your warband is disposable. Its members will suffer injuries, flaws and even unleash horrible magic. But for hardened survivors, a wealth of plunder and experience awaits.

Including:

11 new monsters

Campaign system,  10 original encounters.

Random encounter tables to generate your own scenarios

New weapons

New Treasure table

New relics

Brand new calamity table for when magic goes bad.

A Mad Wizard

Socks

Solo Play and Coop rules

A levelling system - with xp, injuries

Wagon based combat.

Forbidden Psalm is an independent production by Kevin Rahman and is not affiliated with Ockult Örtmästare Games or Stockholm Kartell. It is published under the MÖRK BORG Third Party License.

MÖRK BORG is copyright Ockult Örtmästare Games and Stockholm Kartell.

I'm new to miniatures games and I was impressed by how easy the rules in this book were to follow. However, there's a few things the book didn't specify that I have questions about.

1. When playing co-op, does each player command their own 5-unit warband or are you supposed to divide the units amongst the players? If it's the former, is there a max player limit?
2. When your units die, you can replace them after a scenario either by paying to resurrect them with a new injury or recruiting a new one for free. Since you you can immediately equip the new recruit with the dead one's items, is there any mechanical advantage to resurrection?
3. Some rules mention "in-combat" while others mention "close-combat," but the two phrasings seem to describe the same thing. Is there any difference?
4. One of the magic calamities causes a unit to be attacked by one of its own limbs every turn "forever," so I'd assume that's one of the ones that doesn't go away at the...See more

HI so answers below
1. When playing co-op, does each player command their own 5-unit warband or are you supposed to divide the units amongst the players? If it's the former, is there a max player limit? its designed for two players and each player gets a 5 man warband. For more players there is rules in the expansion in the footsteps of the mad wizard.

2. When your units die, you can replace them after a scenario either by paying to resurrect them with a new injury or recruiting a new one for free. Since you you can immediately equip the new recruit with the dead one's items, is there any mechanical advantage to resurrection? equipment left on the board including on dead models is lost at the end of a scenario so you have to drag the body off of the table or pick up their equipment.

3. Some rules mention "in-combat" while others mention "close-combat," but the two phrasings seem to describe the same thing. Is there any difference? there is not no :) just sloppy...See more

I purchased direct from Exalted Funeral and I have to say this looks even better than I expected it to be. I have only read the rules to date but the biggest plus for me is the simplicity of the rules. Seems very easy to just pick up and go but still has so much flavour. The scenarios look really interesting too. I own several other miniature games but this is the first that seen me enthusiastically order a bunch of Frostgrave miniatures, some scenery, and a playmat. Can't wait to put my first warband, "Breadman's" (who has an anger management issue) Bakers, through their paces :)

Two questions:

1. The Sword and Shortsword do the same damage but the Sword costs more. Not a big issue but there seems little reason to buy a sword.

2. It says you can throw any weapon but suffer -3 to the roll. Does that include weapons with the "thrown" trait e.g. Daggers and Handaxes? or Does it only apply to weapons without that trait, e.g. Swords, etc. I can house rule...See more

Answering my own question - realised this is covered by the thrown property description so the -3 doesn't apply to those weapons which makes sense :)

Hello!
Can a model have a movement value of 0 (or even less than 0)?
E.g. movement is 5 + (Agility -3) (feat -1) (flaw -1), also Rain from weather conditions (Agility -1)
Thanks

How in the hell are we supposed to print this thing? It randomly prints pages upside down, double sided printing gets the pages out of order. Could you please leave some formatting notes, or re-upload it in a printer friendly format? Also, why two cover sheets?

Hi Ben
Sorry you are having a hard time printing it, no sure what's going on there. happy to sort you out a printer friendly version. the two cover sheets where from different art work being used on a variant version of the book and thought people might want access to both pieces in the PDF.

I'm having a similar issue. The upside down pages can be resolved by selecting "flip on short side" when printing double sided. The issue that remains however is that when folded, the pages will go something like 5,2,3,4 or 3,4,5,2. This format also removes the possibility to make signatures of more than a single page. Can we get a version that is only one rulebook page per PDF page?

OK my wife found a way to perform the changes I wanted, but it requires access to Adobe Acrobat (not the reader) to modify the file.
1. In "Organize Pages"
-- Duplicate the double pages so that the duplicate follows the original (most time consuming portion).
2. In "Edit PDF"
-- Use the crop tool to select the left half of the first doubled page. Make the area as close to correct as possible.
-- Double click inside of the crop selection area. This should pull up a pop-up window.
-- Choose to apply the crop to ALL PAGES
-- ALSO choose to apply the crop to ALL ODD PAGES
-- Click OK (or submit or enter or whatever it is)
3. Repeat step 2 for the right side and ALL EVEN PAGES.

Now when you print the document, you can print it double sided and have the pages lay out perfectly. If you want to make signatures like I do, then print it out as a booklet with the number of pages per signature you want, and it will do...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
