The Campaign Creator deck aids in the creation of campaign and quest structures. Randomly generate concepts and themes by drawing cards when writing up a new campaign or story. Quest, Interlude, Theme and Story cards can be laid out and connected to create unique campaign concepts. Roll six sided dice and place them on the cards, and flip coins, to add even more nuance to each card drawn.

DT_CC_copy.jpg

The Campaign Deck can be used in multiple ways. Shuffle and draw cards, placing them beside one another, to create a string of events that will guide you when planning gaming sessions. Once you have drawn and placed your cards, try to think how adjacent cards can flow together and affect one another. The titles of the cards can be taken literally, or simply used as inspiration for campaign content.

Free PDF print files include:

- A3 size

- US Letter Size

-Tabloid Size

- PNGs for Web use

How to Print:

You can order a physical deck from DriveThruRPG. Alternatively, If you have downloaded the free files, take the PDfs into your local printer and ask for a thick card stock, have them guillotined down, then sleeve them. If you are printing at home, print on 300gsm if possible, or desktop printer paper (around 70gsm - 90gsm), then cut out the cards and put them in US poker size card sleeves.

I love this product.

However, there are cards that are missing in PNG format. Evidently, it is an export problem because all even-numbered cards are missing. Note the sequence.

That is an easy fix though. I'll be waiting for the update to correct it.

Thanks Samuel! I've just downloaded the PNG zip file myself, and all cards are in there. I see that the file names are odd numbers though! (I think it is because I didn't save the card backs out for each card). Great spot, thanks for the feedback! So all cards are present but the file names are incorrect. I'll change them soon and re-upload =)
Thanks again!

These seem like a great idea but I also can't print them out properly.
My paper is always A4 so don't have access to US letter or an A3 print.
Any chance of an A4 version for us in the UK?

The printing is total off! Nearly 1/4 in if you print duplex. Quite honestly, that is very annoying. Not only are the print marks set false (cut the first batch then you see what I mean) but also the files are not fully aligned. I used the printer friendly US Letter pdf and front and back side of the cards are off as mentioned above.

This is quite annoying and very disappointing. Please revisit the US Letter and reupload a correct version, because like this the product is completely unusable.

Hi Philipp. I've checked the US letter friendly print file, and I'm not sure what you mean? Every page is exactly aligned to the other (you can see this by flicking from one page to the next within the PDF, all of the borders and crop marks line up to every other page). If you are printing double sided on a desktop printer, there can be movement with the paper, which results in the print not being perfectly aligned to the other side. Taking the file into your local print shop might be a better option

There is a problem with the print marks in any of the templates. The problem is that they are "outside" which means, if you print and then do a horizontal cut, you cut away the vertical guidelines from the print and don't know anymore "where to cut". Can you eventually correct this and rather make them not outside but inside?

Crop marks need to be on the outside so they don't show on the final cut card. When you do any cut you will inevitably lose other crop-marks. This is why in a print shop they would use a guillotine so you can input the measurements and it will cut accordingly. If you are using a scalpel and a ruler on a cutting mat, don't cut over the edge of the page, but just over the crop marks. This will make it easier to follow the leftover guides.

Thanks for putting this out. There is an interesting other use for this, and could be a marketing opportunity for you.... I volunteer at an Assisted Living Facility, where there's a wide spectrum of aging related memory and focus medical realities. Keeping the brain active keeps it sharp and present. So, i run story creation activities. The deck can be generalllized to any genre, time, alternate stories in existing movies or favorite book. So we brainstorm 6 scenarios on a white board (e.g. outer space, Jane Austin, 50's western, Indiana Jones, and Guy Nior - private eye, might be that days suggestions), a resident rolls D6 for the scenario of the day, and another resident shuffles cards, and lays them all out with the other residents gathered around. Sometimes they just pick - Sherlock Homes is a crowd favorite, and it becomes, "what trouble is Sherlock getting in to today," and as a group, following the cards, they write the script for the next one hour adventure, which creates a time box...See more

I am starting an Ironsworn campaign and this deck is fantastic for laying out a potential story arc with themes and interludes. The gameplay may go in an entirely different direction but I strung about 10 quests together very quickly. Great job!

Thanks for providing this! I'm curious what the cards labeled "Secrets/Objectives", "Problems/Solutions", "Setting/Lore", and "Enemies/Allies". Are they just sort of divider cards with cool art and two words to get you thinking about those aspects of the campaign you're planning?

Any chance that the pdf can be updated to a more standard paper size. I (and I'm sure others) don't have access to a printer that can print A3 pages.
Other than that, these look great. Can't wait to use them as soon as I can figure out how to print them.

Hi Michael! Apologies, I live in the UK so A3 is standard size here. Your local printer should be able to run them off for you. You're correct though, I definitely should add a standard US alternate size. I'll lay out the file and upload it soon. Thanks for the feedback!

This looks like an very useful tool for campaign construction and ongoing development. Great idea generator as well. My plan is to take the pdfs crop them out in photoshop and then import them into Fantasy Grounds or Foundry as tokens to use in VTT campaign development online.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
