Cut Up Solo - 1001 Nights
Regular price: $3.99
Bundle price:
 $2.00
Format:
 PDF
Cut Up Solo A Thousand Nights and a Night 1001 Nights, or A Thousand Nights and a Night is a classic source of middle eastern tales. Cut Up Solo is a technique that uses random snippets of text that you pick and fit together, creating what the GM says to you. You can then respond to that, and then the cycle repeats. As all the snippets in this set all come from the same tales, it gives a sense of continuity. Cut-up play is very different from more traditional oracle-driven solo play. If you struggle with how to interpret word pairs or prompts, cut up could be for you. These stories contain over 300,000 words of text, chopped into snippets of 4 or 5 words. You get over 65,000 snippets to mix and match in your solo games. The PDF contains two d1000 tables of snippets, and the spreadsheets co...

Cut Up Solo - A Thin Ghost and Others
Regular price: $3.99
Bundle price:
 $2.00
Format:
 PDF
Cut Up Solo A Thin Ghost and Others by M R James Cut Up Solo is different from the more common Oracle driven solo play. You still get a basic yes-no question and answer tool, but where you may be more familiar with getting word prompts or story cube style game-icons to serve as prompts for scenes, motivations, or even plot twists, cut ups do things differently. Cut Ups take texts in the same genre as you are playing and cuts them up into short snippets. You then draw out snippets at random and try and string them together to put words into the virtual Game Master's mouth. You can edit the snippets to make something that reads fluently, as a GM would describe things, or use them as a rather verbose inspiration prompt, but one that understands the world you are playing in. This PDF contains ...

Bundle price:
 $2.00

Cut Up Solo Beowulf and other Myths of Britain The myths and tales used to create this cut up solo supplement all come from the times before the Anglo Saxon accepted Normal rule, before the time of knightly chivalry when a defeated knight could pay ransom for the return of their horse and armour. When the Saxons fought, it was to the death. These tales hark back to a time when there were many gods to worship, and monsters walked the earth and soared in the sky. These stories contain over 105,000 words of text, chopped into snippets of 4 or 5 words. You get over 24,000 snippets to mix and match in your solo games. Cut Up Solo - Deathworld
Regular price: $3.99
Bundle price:
 $2.00
Format:
 PDF
Cut Up Solo Deathworld Trilogy This is, in my opinion, the best Cut Up Solo supplement so far. It uses the texts from Harry Harrison's Deathworld trilogy. The PDF contains 2,000 snippets, the spreadsheets give you 25,000+ snippets. You also get all the illustrations from the original stories. I included the art as I think it fits in with the philosophy of non-authoring solo play. A regular GM would use visual aids, so why not a solo GM? This supplement is the first in the science fiction genre. There will be more supplements to come. ...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
