For the referee there are lists of monsters, NPCs, and magic items suitable to challenge and reward your players during a campaign. These rules feature abilities for use for when character do things outside of combat and spellcasting. Along with advice for referees on how to use the available mechanics to craft rulings. Finally, a basic overview of how to bring the world outside of the dungeon to life is provided.

A 204 page RPG compatible with the Swords & Wizardry rules

Rob's Note: This product represents a basic version of the rules I been using to run my Majestic Fantasy Realm campaigns for the past decade. It is the first in a series of supplements detailing various elements of the Majestic Fantasy RPG. It is also usable as a supplement for the Swords & Wizardry.

For a setting that is usable with these rules see Blackmarsh. For an adventure designed with these rules see the Scourge of the Demon Wolf

Hello, I no longer seem to be able to access the pdf for this, despite it saying I have purchased this. This is through drivethru's webpage, as well as the mac desktop app. Do you know why this is, or should I contact drivethru directly? Thank you!

I recommend contacting DriveThruRPG. When using customer view I see the following list of files.

The same when I look at it in my Library

Keep me posted on how this turns out.

Robert, I wondered if I could ask you a question about two of your works that interest me. 1) What is the difference between The Majestic Wilderlands Supplement V and The Majestic Fantasy RPG on DriveThru?
2) Is The Majestic Fantasy RPG the first book of a new rebuild for The Majestic Wilderlands Supplement V? In other words, is or will The Majestic Wilderlands Supplement V become obsolete? Or, are the two books planned in a way that they are complimentary?

The Majestic Fantasy RPG is a rebuild of the rules section of the MW Supplement. Basically it has a decade of further play and refinement added. The Majestic Wilderlands supplement is compatible but represent an earlier version. For example ability bonuses are fixed per level per class in MW. While in the MFRPG players have a pool of free bonuses to spend on the abilities of their choice.

The plan is to expand the setting from Blackmarsh and the Points of Light books (Goodman Games) and it will be called the Majestic Fantasy Realms. And the rules will be part of the Majestic Fantasy RPG line.

Right now I am working on an expanded Wild North that incorporates Blackmarsh followed by the Tome of the Majestic Fantasy RPG while will expand the character creation material to the full level range and addin the other classes I have like the Montebank and the Knight.

Hope this clarifies things.

I have two questions for Robert:
- are you planning to add bookmarks to the pdf?
- are we going to see the eXpert version of this game?

I think this is an amazing take on the most famous RPG out there.
It is OSR in spirit, with some nice "modern" touch to make it easy to understand and to play. Great job!

Thanks for the compliment.
Question #1) Sorry about the bookmarks. I thought I had it enabled. I will fix it up this weekend.

Question #2) The "expert" version is going to be a series of supplements. I realize it will be a little different so there some risk it won't work out.

The next one up is the Lost Grimoire of Magic while will have the complete details of the Magic User class, and Spells. along with some useful aids and procedures centered around magic users. There will be supplements covering Fighters, Rogues, Clerics, Monsters, NPCs (two volumes), Equipment, Treasure, and Magic Items. Finally a book around sandbox campaigns, refereeing, and various useful aids.

The point of doing it this way is that in my experience most people start out with a system and then kitbash stuff they like from other similar systems. I am aiming not only to write a quality RPG, but be a first or second choice when people kitbash their campaign. Hence breaking down it into...See more

Yup, the art and editing needed is just out of reach for me to self-fund the project.
And like the Basic Rules the supplements will be open content.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
