 PDF
Welcome to "100 Oddities for a Treasure Hoard," the ninth entry in Skirmisher Publishing’s popular "Oddities" series! This publication features 100 unique things characters might encounter in an otherwise mundane collection of loot and includes guidelines for ways to introduce Oddities into your game sessions or stories in a fun and compelling way.  Have you ever needed to stock a treasure hoard? If you are the storyteller for a game, the answer to that question is undoubtedly a resounding yes! At the end of a long and perilous quest, the heroes (and their players) usually look forward to some tangible material reward for their efforts. But it can be difficult to get beyond randomized coinage and a handful of gems, especially if you are pressed for time. And ambitious players ...

Finders of Fortune: Three Treasure-Seeking Prestige Classes
Regular price: $0.99
Bundle price:
 $0.49
Format:
 PDF
This publication contains descriptions and stats for three very different prestige classes, the Gimmicker, Tomb Robber, and Tunnel Rat, that have one key thing in common: their desire to acquire loot that is beyond the reach of other characters! These prestige classes are designed primarily to be compatible with the Pathfinder roleplaying game system but are usable pretty much as-is with OGL 3.0.3.5 rules as well. One is skilled at (mis)using magic items, another is a classic tomb raider, and the third is adept at navigating and surviving the darkness and hazards of the subterranean world.  This book was authored by bestselling game developer and illustrated by acclaimed fantasy artist Amanda Kahl. ...

In honor of the 2020 Asian Lunar New Year, Skirmisher Publishing is proud to announce the release of “Jinshu Shu, the Metal Rat: A Monster for 5th Edition”!  Jinshu Shu are elemental creatures that look like rats made from various sorts of precious metal and which are created on the Elemental Plane of Earth through a convergence of metallurgic, metaphysical, and elemental fire and air energies. Materials of Ancient Empires
Regular price: $0.99
Bundle price:
 $0.49
Format:
 PDF
The idea of long-lost cultures that were technologically or magically superior to those of the current era of a game setting is fairly common in both fantasy and science fiction. They are suitable for use in any fantasy, modern, science-fiction, or post-apocalyptic games that use the d20 system and can easily be adapted for other games altogether. ...

Mysterious Relics: Pantheon-Specific Temple Objects & Furnishings
Regular price: $1.99
Bundle price:
 $0.99
Format:
 PDF
In addition to religious trappings common to the temples of many lands and gods — like altars and deities’ holy symbols — certain objects, furnishings, sacred animals, and other items of a ritual nature might be found only in the shrines of specific deities or pantheons. Relics also often have very narrow functions and are frequently affiliated with specific cults or sects within a temple, such as those that might use the item in question as part of secret rites in hidden areas. Depending on their uses, such items might either be in plain sight or concealed in special areas. “Mysterious Relics” examines the various objects, furnishings, garb, accouterments, and items associated with temples and other holy sites and provides as examples a dozen ancient holy ...

The Jester Dragon's Bag of Beans
Regular price: $2.99
Bundle price:
 $1.49
Format:
 PDF
One of the most iconic magic items associated with fantasy roleplaying games since their earliest days, and one that has seen incarnations in every edition of the game for which 5th Edition is the latest version, is the Bag of Beans. This item is, of course, inspired by the magic beans that appear in the classic fairy tale commonly known as Jack and the Beanstalk. Only one magical power is associated with the beans in that story, namely growing a massive vine that stretches up into a cloud kingdom inhabited by Giants, but the creators of the world’s greatest and oldest RPG cannily realized that any number of powers might be associated with legumes of this sort and proceeded accordingly when putting them into game terms. Many players think that the Bag of Be...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
