From now through November 30th, this digital title has been marked down for the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend! For more savings, visit our Black Friday/Cyber Monday page.

Sprawlrunners is a 71-pages setting-agnostic Savage Worlds toolkit to help you run cyberpunk (with optional magic) in your games! It pays hommage to the classic cyberpunk games of old, bringing their (partially mythically enhanced) flavor to the Fast! Furious! Fun! of the Savage Worlds system.

Sprawlrunners includes:

  • Rules and ideas for playable species and how to integrate them in a – potentially magical – cyberpunk world (4 in addition to humans included)
  • Edges and Hindrances to enhance a cyberpunk feeling (connecting many systems in Sprawlrunners to tie them into character Advances)
  • Two different sets of rules for Hacking in cyberspace (the lightning-quick Fast Lane or the more detailed Slow Burn)
  • Jockeys – characters who control vehicles and drones remotely or directly via implants (plus their toys, drones and vehicles!)
  • A full system for integrating gear and implants into character Advances instead of keeping track of currency
  • Rules to integrate cyberware into character Advances instead of adding another subsystem to the game
  • Generic gear typical for cyberpunk settings (including customizable weapons!)
  • Optional rules for magic in a cyberpunk world (special gear and three Arcane Backgrounds, one of which is brand new!)

Sprawlrunners expands on existing Savage Worlds systems and is a toolkit containing rules and mechanics. It does not provide setting material!

This looks like an absolute dream come true. I love Savage Worlds and the setting for that other cyberpunk fantasy game. I'm waiting for the POD before purchasing, but I was just curious - will the POD version be in line with the digest size Savage Worlds has adopted, or will it be letter size?

POD will be US Letter, the same size as the PDF. US Letter is still common among ACE publishers for Savage Worlds, as it allows for more freedom regarding image and text arranging. :)

Letter-size sure does allow more leeway in layup, but it sure looks like butt next to my other SW products! :P

Is it necessary to buy the Fast Lane Hacking and Distant Journeys product to complement here or is it all self included?

Fast Lane Hacking is an excerpt of Sprawlrunners and is included in it. Distant Journeys is an unrelated product and not included in Sprawlrunners. :)

Very cool. I do have a question, if you take Chromed, you get 2 implant points of stuff. Can that include 0 point items, or do you have to take Implanted for that?

2nd question, about Jockeys
DataJack (pg 53) says you can connect to several things, including a pilot-rig equipped vehicle

The Vehicle Control Rig implant (pg 55) says it's needed to connect to a vehicle with a Jockey adapter, or to a drone over a remote control deck. You get a bonus to Athletics to interrupt when "jacked in"

The Remote Control Deck (pg 67) says it's required to remotely control vehicles or drones, or jump into one and control it directly.

I assumed jacked in = jump in = your body goes limp and you ARE the vehicle or drone

I'm not sure what happens if I only have a Data Jack. Can I just plug into my car and drive handsfree? EDIT: this could be useful for the RCC, since it's hard to type on a keyboard while dodging grenades

what if I have just the VCR? Then I can jump in? Do I need the DataJack as well?

And with the RCC, I can remote operate or Jump into vehicles or drones?

And the main/only...See more

Hi and thanks for your support! :)

--if you take Chromed, you get 2 implant points of stuff. Can that include 0 point items, or do you have to take Implanted for that?
Implanted is a free Edge, you don't have to pay an Advance for it. :) You have to take Implanted for the 0 point implants, though.

--I assumed jacked in = jump in = your body goes limp and you ARE the vehicle or drone
Correct.

--I'm not sure what happens if I only have a Data Jack. Can I just plug into my car and drive handsfree?
As per written, no, you require the implant. But that's a setting decision, so could easily be used either way.

--what if I have just the VCR? Then I can jump in? Do I need the DataJack as well?
Yes, you need the Datajack, the VCR is just the silicone that translates the vehicle-to-human signals, the Datajack and cable are what transports those signals.

--And with the RCC, I can remote operate or Jump into vehicles or drones?
Correct....See more

Okay, I REALLY like how you filed off all the numbers on [THAT OTHER MAGICPUNK] game and made something simple but great. I do have a question though. Any chance hitting on some of the newer aspects on [THAT OTHER GAME] like technomancers and pc ai? Drakes? that kind of stuff?

Hi and thank you for your support. :) There are currently no plans to adapt the mentioned aspects to Sprawlrunners. As long as new species adhere to the 'Creating Races' rules in Savage Worlds they will be fully compatible with Sprawlrunners, so it's fortunately easy enough to introduce your own. :)

We will gather feedback and make corrections to the PDF for a few weeks and then get on to bring it to DTRPG POD. :) So, some time Q1 2021. :)

Was looking through the PDF, Don't know if it seems off to anyone else, but for the dwarves height you listed it in cm and the troll is listed in ft. Don't know if it would look better to have just 1 or both, ie 130cm (4')

Looks great but I can't find the chi power list, or how chi points work unless it's a copy of the legendary edge?
Customer avatar

CREATOR
Hi and thank you for your purchase!
Chi Powers are listed on page 19 and 20 of Sprawlrunners. They are a regular Arcane Background, and purchasing the Arcane Background (Chi Adept) Edge grants the character 2 Chi Points to buy powers. Later they can spend Advances on the Chi Mastery Edges on page 16 to get more Chi Points and buy more Chi Powers with them. :)

Understand now, I was looking for a powers list similar to the magic users, instead of purchasing abilities similar to implants. Any chance this supplement will also be supported on savaged.us like fast Lane hacking was?
Customer avatar
Manuel S November 08, 2020 12:53 pm UTC
CREATOR
Yes, it will! They have a few products in their queue right now, so it may take some time, but it will be available on Savaged.us eventually!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
