A Halloween-Themed Collection of Adventure Hooks

Featuring An Adaptation of Creepy Clowns

Using TinyD6 From Gallant Knight Games

By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes! Included in this book are over a dozen adventure hooks, ideas for threats and challenges for a Gamemaster to flesh out themselves fully to have their Kids take on. These hooks are more than “the usual problems'' of trying to maximize how much candy you can get on Halloween; Gamemasters will find stranger ideas included here like packs of werewolves lead by a little girls missing dog, best friends that were turned into a cat, parties attended by monsters taking the night off, and much more!

This book also includes a complete Stranger Stuff for TinyD6 version of the original vs. Stranger Stuff Adventure: Creepy Clowns! We’ve even included an appendix of additional alternate clowns and rules to help you run our vs. Stranger Stuff: Send In the Clowns Special Edition for TinyD6!

For use with the TinyD6 edition of Stranger Stuff from Fat Goblin Games! Stranger Stuff is a minimalist tabletop roleplaying game of 1980’s inspired adventure, horror, and science fiction, where you play as “Kids” in their teens. But it’s not just homework and asking someone to the dance that are the terrors they need to face. Clearly influenced by the hit Netflix series, but also the great films that inspired that show, Stranger Stuff takes the original card-based vs. Stranger Stuff game released by Fat Goblin Games and adapts it to be played using TinyD6, a dice-based rules light tabletop roleplaying game from Gallant Knight Games, so that you can play both existing adventures with quick adaptation but also prepare the Kids for totally different dangers still to come.

I received a review copy from Fat Goblin Games but as a fellow publisher (and author of the Creepy Clowns adventure this book is based on) cannot leave a formal, with stars, review.

First impression: I like it! A perfect book to get your Tiny d6 adventurers into the Halloween spirit.

The Good: The cover looks like a classic Goosebumps-esque book cover. The adventure hooks are good, each one feeling like a Goosebumps book as well. The adaptation of the Creepy Clowns adventure is still true to form, short, but able to be run by the GM multiple times with multiple challenges for the players. The addition of the Alley of Clowns, it’s own clown-based creature compendium, is a great bonus.

The Bad: The original Creepy Clowns uses randomized events to help keep the story fresh for GMs and repeat players. In this version of the adventure the first randomized event comes before the explanation of what’s happening. It’s a minor layout gripe.

I enjoyed the book quite...See more

In before anyone can ask -- YES this will be available in Print-on-Demand once we get the proof (it can take upwards of a month or more). Sometimes its faster but it might be November before we can offer PoD. :(

Guess the best thing to do is wait for PoD plus pdf option is available before purchasing. That will save you a few bucks.

The publisher, Rick Hershey, sends out a discount code for the PoD for those that buy the PDF first (prior to the availability of the PoD) -- that's the best deal I believe.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
