Virgins & Vixens Game Information:

Players start out as one of 8 classic women archetypes found in folklore, fairy tales and mythology around the world. These archetypes have severe limitations - just like the one-dimensional tropes of women found in these types of stories! Through game-play mechanics like Defiance Rolls and collecting Empowerments, the players break out of these constraints and rewrite the tale of their character!

This game is a stand-alone tabletop role-playing game. Everything you need to play is included in the download, except for dice.

Note: This game book includes historical art from around the world, including Egypt, India, Africa and more. A few instances display some partial nudity, similar to what you would see in a museum.

This game is awesome! It does a great job exploring how women are portrayed in folklore and how we can subvert those tropes through play.

You list this in the description as for "All ages," but your game is called Virgins & Vixens and your Note at the bottom says there's partial nudity. Makes total sense.

Please don't put words in my mouth - I didn't say that. But I'm not going to show a 7 year old kid statues of naked people or paintings with naked people on them either. Maybe our parenting styles are just different...
My main point was the title seems a little iffy if it's for all ages.

Well considering my home town has a nude male statue on the corner of the city hall... well naked statues and historical art really isn’t a big deal in most of Europe at least.

Hello! Thanks for checking out my game! This game does work well for kids, especially with the gameplay based on descriptive words, but it was designed for people of all ages. There is nothing explicit in the title. Many children are introduced to the concept of virgins in church, especially if they are Christian.

Virgins and vixens are both referring to character tropes that we see in myths and fairy tales all over the world. Disney movies are a great example. Sexuality or someone actually being a virgin are not written into the game. You play characters that fit those archetypes, such as the princess trapped in the tower or the wicked hag who keeps her prisoner.

There is nudity in a few of the pictures, and since I knew some people may object I did want to post a warning. They are all historical images and nothing graphic. I had linked to the images but DriveThru doesn't allow links in descriptions. The most graphic of the images is an ancient mosaic. If you google "petra mosaic"...See more

I understand being concerned about some aspects of the game, but I imagine it would play just fine if you didn't tell kids the title or show them the pictures.

Hello! I don't think so. When I went in and checked it seemed like they just reorganized the backend of the publishing page a bit and the preview needed to be turned back on. You can now see the pages again!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
