ShipWorks Core Set Airship Components Add-on

ADD TO WISHLIST >

ShipWorks is a 3D printable OpenLOCK compatible Ship building system for RPGs and wargames.

The Airship Components add-on gives you the ability to use the library of hundreds of airship components to convert a core ship into a airship. From a massive elemental ring powered sky galleon, to etheric pontoons, crystal powered, wings, or mystical engines. Use the components to customize your ships further into epic vessels of the clouds and ether.

Also featuring a new sterncastle, multiple forecastle options, keel level bomb hatches or cannons, and much more.

Thank you for supporting small artists!! These models are for personal non-redistributable use only. For commercial printing options, please contact us directly.

While there are issues with other parts as well, I feel like what really illustrates that many of these aren't ready to be printed are the Grand Airship Sterncastle Rear Wall L and R pieces. There's actually no flat bottom for this to sit on the plate (the bottom geometry is a mess) and there are multiple horizontal areas that require supports (such as inside the horizontal OpenLock areas--like all the other ShipWorks files that have been put out--and some sort of supporting geometry under the shelf of decking under the door to the balcony). I enjoyed printing from the other sets (core, tall, wide, etc.) but this set has been nothing but frustration and a waste of time/PLA of failed prints.

Tim,
The files HAVE been printed by myself, and several others. The set was in testing for well over a year. Every file was print tested. There's multiple large scale airships printed and in the gallery in the Facebook group, and for good reason.
Calling it a 'mess' isn't accurate, at all.
If you're needing supports inside the horizontal openlock slots- then you have a printer calibration issue.
If you need assistance with a specific file to get it to print correctly, I'm happy to do so- just ask on the Facebook group, or the Discord (https://discord.gg/VWAwfb9ghk)
and we can walk you through what is needed.

For the grand sterncastle, while the wide ship additions for "mid segment-finned.001" and "rear wall r1.001" that have the designed-in table/shelf with bottles is neat, I'm looking for versions of those two that allow for a dividing wall instead. Is that hiding somewhere in the package and I just can't find it?

For the sub cabin, are there hatches/ladders to close up that space? is there an intended way for the players to descend from the lower deck to the keel and from keel to sub cabin?

there's an entire folder of options in the ShipWorks Core set that the airship set uses - for transitioning above/below decks :-)
There are ladders, stairs, etc. - if you unzip all of the ShipWorks Core set zip files into the same destination- it'll make a comprehensive directory. Just look in ShipWorks Core/Deck Stairs and Ladders

This seems like the closest match I could find to the kind of airships I'm interested in. One question though: does this include options for oval balloons (similar to a zeppelin)? And are there options for ropes or nets holding the balloons to the ship bodies?

For the Small Dragon Airship, the instructions do not indicate what piece is used between the elemental boiler and the balloon. Is it a smooth mast piece? I've been digging through the Airship Components files and the Core Set files and I can't find anything that will match this. Otherwise, I am very excited about this product. I just finished printing the keel for the Small Dragon Airship and it is amazing. Lower decks are printing now. Balloon will follow soon.

I apologize! You're right, I missed that. I used a 1" outer diameter clear acrylic tube, 3.5 inches long. If you have a TAP Plastics in your area, it usually runs about a dollar? If you don't, shoot me a email at info @ Dragon - workshop . com (remove spaces) and I can help you find options.

If you'd like though, I can make a printable tube option.

That helps, thank you very much for your quick response. I don't have a TAP plastics but knowing what I need, I can look around and find one. I love your models. I just got my Ender 3 V2 last month and started printing dungeon tiles until I stumbled on ShipWorks. Will probably be printing nothing but ships for a month or two. Thank you for these!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
