For those wondering if this book contains art for all the weapons, both in the Core and Firing Squad rulebooks: the anwer is NO. In fact, I would go as far as to say that roughly 3/4 of the images here can be found scattered through those books. This can be confusing for some purchasers as the description of the product suggests that's the case.

There are also a good bunch of weapons you won't find here, for example, not a single one from the rEVOlution Arms (except the axe which already comes included in the Firing Squad book). But lots of them are missing.

Just as a general info.

Cover art carries a lot more weight than publisher's believe. I was looking to get back into Shadowrun, until I unfortunately saw this. I am completely uninterested at this point...doubly so if this wasn't simply a moronic art choice and instead actually reflects the current world of Shadowrun.

I think Allegra is trying to be polite. They are asking for you to pause a moment and logically look at this cover and see if this is racist.

If your trying to be inclusive to race on your products, this is not the best look. African American gentlemen looking angry with guns and everything on fire in the background? An artist attribution would count on this. Because if a white person drew this I would take it down.

Yeah that cover's cringey as well. TBH, I place that more on the publisher, the art is reused from Tales from the UCAS: Age of Rust, and the art from that book had a couple of black people in different situations, not just this one. (Incidentally, I think this particular picture has been reused a few times). The artist is white, if that affects things. Again, I think it's more on the publisher than the artist: if the artist draws a variety of characters in situations like this, but one of them is taken out of context, I don't think that's on them.

My take was more about artists/writers already getting the short end of the stick in the TTRPG community, you can at least credit them. I was also trying to figure out if this had anything new in it, or if it was just repeated content from Firing Squad and the CRB.

Now, if someone's going to try and hunt down their social media because of how CGL used their art, maybe they can hold off...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
