Shadowrun: Krime Katalog

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Big Bang Boom

Look, do you want a really nice gun, or do you want something that’s going to do the job? When you’re firing a projectile at high speeds, do you really need frills like blued steel, personalized grips, or a safety? And when you’re a real-sized being—like a troll or an ork, instead of one of the punier things—don’t you want something that was designed from the ground up with you in mind?

All of this is why Krime exists—to give you what you want. From the beefy Krime Heater handgun to the overstuffed Krime Soldier to the rapid-firing Krime Monster, this catalog includes a full range of weapons, along with vehicles like the barely street legal Krime Wageslave and the abomination known as the Krime DeTruck Sports Truck. Oh, and some ammo and grenades thrown in, because that’s the Krime way!

Krime Katalog is a dual-statted collection of weapons and vehicles, meaning it can be used with both Shadowrun, Fifth Edition and Shadowrun, Sixth World.

Why is this book 102 mb in size for 41 pages?

Don't know what all the hate is about. It's not bad at all.
It features weapons for the plus-sized 'Runner, plus a lot of gimmicky stuff that players would come up with on their own
Yeah, sure it's more of a flavour book but I got the feeling that that was the whole point. This is what happens when you get a weapon company founded by a group of guys who are thinking outside of the Corporate box-mindset.

Just read through this side by side with the core rulebook for 6e... The stats and prices of the guns and vehicles make 0 Sense, they seem useless in most cases except for a few inventive exceptions and the gun add-ons. I don't see any players wanting to use these items considering they are so lackluster compared to the stuff they can all clearly see in the core rulebook. Outside of it being funny corporate lore and some wacky items with fun names, what is the point?

No. Such a lack of imagination. You own Shadowrun. There are a ton of brand names you could have used for all of the equipment. All you had to do was plagiarize yourself and this would have been way better. Bring back the Street Samurai Catalog. This RPG practically invented this style of book. Why is this so bad?

And the pink logo looks exactly like this trashy stripper joint I used to drive by on my way to work.

And why are their more Shadowrun 6th edition books in German than English?

I'm not a hater, but my teeth were on edge just from the sales pitch with all the "K"s. This one is going to be a hard one to buy.

6th edition is bombing so badly that they are putting out dual stat books nearly a year after 6e came out. Nice job Catalyst...

I'm not sure what I find more pathetic the attempt to get sales by trying to appeal to 5th ed fans, padding the page count by dual stating, or by thinking its cool to just replace the C's in Crime Catalog with K's.

Oh wait it's catalyst, they probably think Crime is spelled Krime.

Krime has existed as a Sixth World corporation since at least 2013 (real world time).

Interesting, but since that is still during the age of Catalyst it doesn't really change the possibility that they actually thought they were spelling Crime correctly given their track record on editing.

And on the much more likely situation that they did...it's still a dumb XXX (appears the common name for the human posterior is too naughty for this place) name for a company.

They were putting out dual-stated 4E/5E books for about a year and a half after 5E came out. It's not that an edition is bombing, it's that a little extra work makes it easier for GMs and players to bridge the gap from one edition to the next.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
