  • Descriptions of forty personalities, both of Dorastor and the surrounding Borderlands

Secrets of Dorastor deals with extreme horror, with topics including violence, cannibalism, seduction, forced matings, ritual sacrifice and the liberal use of acid.
Please do not purchase this if these themes might cause offense.

Thanks Erik, the POD is coming. I have the files for the Classic layout, but converting them to Word has made some formatting changes, so I need to sort those out. I need to do that so that I can make changes to the text etc in case there are corrections. It shouldn't take too long, but I have something in the pipeline that i want to finish before starting on the POD version.

I have removed the earlier version of files, as it may have been confusing having multiple versions.

So, now Secrets of Dorastor gives you:
66807-StormSpearia-SecretsOfDorastor-v2.pdf: The original layout
66807-StormSpearia-SecretsOfDorastorClassic-v1.pdf: Layout similar to Dorastor Land of Doom All the maps from Secrets of Dorastor, but full-size.
66807-StormSpearia-SecretsOfDorastor-Spells-V1.pdf: All the spells from Secrets of Dorastor

Master Gollum ( has redone the layout for Secrets of Dorastor in Classic Mode, to look more like the original Dorastor Land of Doom and Lords of Terror formats.

I have added this as a free download to Secrets of Dorastor, so you can access it by checking out your DTRPG library.

Many thanks to Master Gollum for offering to do this.

I have added the revised version of the Classic Format and removed v1

How useful would this be to run an old-school Riskland-type campaign, where the players are focused on building a new community?

Secrets of Dorastor covers the Borderlands around Dorastor in varying amounts of detail. It has many scenario Hooks involving setting up steads, settling Riskland and new people coming into the area. It also has a section on stead management, relating mainly to the Sacred Time Income rules in RQG,

Although not explicitly geared up to this, secrets of Dorastor does provide some support. It does not repeat what was in Dorastor Land of Doom, as it is not designed as a replacement of Dorastor Land of Doom.

I do expect the low-level Scenarios of Dorastor to focus on stead-building and the development of the Renekotling Clan, as well as populating the other nearby areas such as Dorastaland and Riskland.

We have been asked to hold off PODs until our titles have reached Electrum Seller level. This is to reduce the sheer amount of work coming through to OBS's Print on Demand Team.

So, if you want a print on Demand version of Secrets of Dorastor, you know what to do!

Buy! Buy! Buy!

Will the pdf buyers get some sort of a discount if buying the POD later?
Customer avatar
Simon P July 23, 2020 6:40 am UTC
Hi Tommi H

That is certainly what I want to do.

However, I would need to look at the options, as I cannot sell the POD version at below cost.

There would be a discount on the POD Version if you bought the PDF, but I am not sure if it would be the full price of the PDF. To do that, I would have to set the price of the Bundle at the sum of the two individual prices, which would probably be quite high.

How odd, you'd think in these uncertain economic times people would be glad to have the work coming in.....

Neither the Full-size nor the Alternate preview work.
Amazing product anyway :)

They keep on coming and going. I'll try to set them up again.

Previews are back!

Well, until they disappear again.

They must be part of the vanishing Lands of Dorastor.

I have fixed the typos reported to me, have made some changes to the layout, made a change to the Dorastor Map to include the Cacodemon Temple on Nangtali's Plateau and to name the Jackling correctly. I have also pulled out all the spells new to RQG and put them into a separate document, to make it easier to refer to them.

The POD version is undergoing some preliminary checks before I submit it to DTRPG.

This work makes me want to spit acid, I had to have a San Roll...... which I failed( 3 points).... and I gained 2% to my Chaos Lore.
Yeah, that is Dorastor alright, you have a mind a God Learner would love to study...... your vision is as twisted as the place.... .

Great work, Borgs well spent I say.

May Darkness ⚫️ protect us from your campaigns.

Only +2%? You must have rolled badly. This is an Ancient Tome that gives +1D6% Chaos Lore and +20% Dorastor Lore.

I am pleased that you enjoyed it and the denizens of Dorastor hope that you or your Adventurers can visit Dorastor soon, so they can have fresh meat to play with.

Work on the POD version is going steadily. I have converted all interior artwork to greyscale, changed all text to Black and am in the process of recolouring Author's Comments, Scenario Hooks and Spells. Depending on how fast I can do it, that might be ready tomorrow, but certainly by the end of the week.

Will there be a print run/POD version ? There's a lot of great new RQ and Gloranthan stuff coming out, but much of it is PDF only. I'm an old fogy, I just prefer print.......

I am thinking of sacrificing some Aldryami. I just haven't decided on whether they come from Hellwood or Poisonthorn Woods.

Someone has reliably informed me that it should be relatively easy, perhaps, maybe.

Hoorah for the design decision for black and white internal artwork.

I thought I had added a Full Preview.

There is an option to add a preview manually, so I'll create one.

cCer Page, Index Page, Map page and some juicy bits?
Customer avatar
Simon P June 26, 2020 6:44 pm UTC
Yes, 259 pages, but some of that is Table of Contents, Adverts for Jonstown compendium and so on.

Nick's excellent Scenarios supplement gives it as: map (1), prologue (3), places (70), personalities (56), bestiary (29), organisations (13), cults (26), illumination (10), effects (3), treasures (9), miscellaneous (3), encounter tables (6), campaigns (10), game masters (8), covers (2), credits/ToC (1), epilogue/thanks (1), advert (2), index (6).

It is far easier to use his figures than count it myself.

The Full Page Preview seems to be working now, not sure why the Custom Preview isn't showing up.

All the stats have been converted to RQG.

This is mainly new material, some of which appeared on my website in a different form.

Some entries are expansions on, or variants of, material that appeared in Dorastor Land of Doom, but I have tried to refer to that supplement instead of copying lots of material.

There is a Table of Contents at that you should be able to look at and decide what is new.

Of the Chapters: Places mostly covers undescribed areas; Personalities describes new people, except for Ralzakark; Bestiary is a mixture of new creatures and creatures from the Glorantha Bestiary with additional notes; Organizations is new, except for the Broo Legion and Mad Dog Templars, but I have expanded the Mad Dogs; Cults covers new cults with my version of Dorasta; Illumination is new, but details some schools covered in the Guide to Glorantha; Effects, Treasures, Miscellaneous, Encounter Tables,...See more

Is this material from the old Dorastor book or new? Is it written with RQ:G stats?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
