So if I want to run a campaign with magic users, psychics, mecha, super soldiers, and bionics is this the book I should pair with my Genesys Core or not? If not, which book or books?

According to this book, it says the core Genesys rule book is required in order to properly run a campaign in the Keyforge setting. Though I have heard of people just kinda nabbing creatures as well as the aember system and skills from this book and implanting them into TTRPG's like 5E, Infinity, and Shadowrun.

This book would be useful for all of those, except maybe lacking for psychics. That is one Genesys hasn't really touched. The alien race creation rules are amazing as are the custom item creation.

There are some good 3rd party psychic products here in DTRPG and you can always just re-skin the magic system into psionics.

I don't understand the comment and rating about low resolution. Mine is fine. May want to try re-downloading it.

Is there any reason why the resolution for the art is so low?

Got the physical copy a few weeks ago, and i freaking love this book. The Keyforge universe is perfect for a Borderlands style campaign and i can't wait to see what Edge studio will do with Genesys in the future, considering they are now the ones with the licenses for all of FFG's roleplaying games.

Is FFG planning to create one for the Tannhauser setting?

It seems very unlikely as FFG has discontinued publishing RPGs:

This is probably their last release, unless there are still some books "on the boat".

Well, that sucks. I should've expected it after the Asmodee takeover.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Per a later article from the same site, the FFG RPG properties were moved to another Asmodee-owned studio and should still be in production: http://www.d20radio.com/main/new-edge-studio-will-take-over-ffg-rpgs/

And Sam Stewart has been named RPG manager at Edge. He's the same guy that was RPG manager at FFG.

Well, things have changed since the transition. Asmodee has handed over the entire library of old, new, and in development RPGs to a satellite company called "Edge Studios" ( https://edge-studio.net/ ) which appears to be developing the old Fantasy Flight RPGs into a division of Asmodee. I, for one, was very glad to hear that these games would not become "Dead Games" (as my Friendly Local Game Store likes to call them). The site they have now is temporary, and merely showcases the RPGs that they are concentrating on right now, and asks you to sign up for a newsletter about the site and future releases.

Physical release was delayed by COVID; I suspect we'll see some rapid catch up and availability through all the normal channels, including Amazon.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
