Once upon a time, the Witch of the Wild felt her heart drawn to a handsome and valiant Knight Errant, but his eyes and his heart were only for the king's daughter, the princess. This became all too apparent when the witch approached the knight and offered herself to him. Bitter and scornful at being rebuffed, the witch cursed the knight; his heart became twisted, and his love turned to lust. His actions began to reflect his now-tarnished soul, and it wasn't long before he became known as the Black Knight. Once and Once and a Long Time Ago is an epic fantasy adventure. Although not an introductory adventure, it can be used at various character levels with little to no adjustment needed. It can be plugged into any epic fantasy setting or campaign and can even serve as a building point for ...

Over a century ago, the kingdom of Unaya was embroiled in a bitter war with a neighboring nation, Caldar. Though the squabble that started the war soon became forgotten, the war raged on for many years. One of Unaya’s prized weapons in this conflict was its dogs of war – tenacious beasts with a fear-inducing howl and jaws like bear traps. The dogs were trained in a great compound, but little remains of that compound now. That is until you descend the stairs into the labyrinth underground. Dogs of War is a fantasy encounter for any adventure or campaign, suitable for dark fantasy, fantasy horror, and epic fantasy settings. It’s presented as a single location and can be used at various character ranks to better fit into your adventures and campaigns. Dogs of War is a complete, stand...

Systematic Settings #01: Underhome
Regular price: $2.50
Bundle price:
 $2.00

An abandoned dwarven city, Underhome is completely submerged. A poorly placed mining shaft tapped an underwater lake that flooded the city, forcing the inhabitants to suddenly flee, leaving most of their wealth behind. The majority of their crafts remaining intact, since they were made out of metal or stone, Underhome now contains technology and knowledge lost to the remaining inhabitants of the world. Underhome is a dark fantasy setting. Designed as a region to be set within any setting or campaign, it’s usable at any character rank and can even provide a new home for the player characters. With a slight change of flavor, Underhome can also be placed in any epic fantasy setting and includes new adversaries. Underhome includes: A collection of NPCs. Bundle price:
 $2.50
Format:
 PDF
Norlynn is a very old village, north of the Sparkling Sea, south of the Great Riverlands, and east of the Wildlands. It is populated by around three hundred villagers, and to passersby would appear to be nothing more than a hub for the local farmers and fishermen. Those who know of the local lore, however, know that Norlynn is anything but a simple trading hub. While most of the villagers who live there are relatively average folk, Norlynn is home to the arcane order known as the Magicker's Guild, and, more importantly, the ancient building known to most simply as the House of Doors. Norlynn is an epic fantasy town to be set within any setting or campaign; it’s usable at any character rank and can even provide a new home for the player characters. With a slight change of flavor, Norlyn...

Regular price: $2.50
Bundle price:
 $2.00
Format:
 PDF
The Castle of The Mountain, located in the realm of Lord Bane, is situated atop a large hill with a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. Accessible by a well-maintained path, it’s a formidable structure to gaze upon. The castle derives its name from being constructed using hard stone, a rarity in this land. The Mountain, as it’s often called, was constructed using a local, grey rock that now shows the scars of numerous assaults. Its outer wall protects a large central keep. Realm of Lord Bane presents a fantasy horror locale for any setting, adventure, or campaign. Lord Bane and those beneath him were once human, but a blessing (or a curse) has turned their deaths into an opportunity for near-immortality. The townsfolk of Undermount, within Lord Bane’s domain, must live ...

Systematic Settings #04: Temple of St. Benjamin
Regular price: $2.50
Bundle price:
 $2.00
Format:
 PDF
Along the rocky cliffs, an ancient temple stands proud, casting an ominous shadow on the village below. It’s an empty structure from a forgotten time; or at least it’s supposed to be empty. The temple once offered religious services to the villagers and provided a resting place for their deceased. Now, it’s plagued by the undead and their necromantic master. Temple of St. Benjamin presents a fantasy horror locale, usable at different character ranks, for any setting, adventure, or campaign. The ossuary and church, under control by a vile necromancer, should be placed on a cliff overlooking a village, preferably near a large body of water. Temple of St. Benjamin is a complete, standalone micro-setting. It only requires a core rulebook. Systematic Settings #04: Temple of St. Benjam...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
