BLACK FRIDAY SALE! Get this bundle at half price for one day only!

All the Digital Map Tiles from Waves One and Two of Jon Hodgson map Tiles!

After two smash-hit Kickstarter campaigns, the digital tiles are now available for everyone to buy! And we've made this super bargain bundle deal! Each set of digital tiles sells for $3.99, and this set of SIXTEEN sets costs just $19.99. That's a saving of almost $44!

Digital Map Tiles are an easy and effective way to build complex maps for VTT adventures in a fraction of the time it would take to create them from scratch. With no limit on how many times you can use a given tile, the possibilities are almost endless. And with Linking Tiles allowing sets to be joined together, your VTT adventures will never be the same again!

  • Each set contains fuzzy-edged pngs, gridded jpegs and plain jpegs, all intended for VTT use.
  • Gridded tiles have 6 squares per side
  • Each tile is 1000px across in full colour
  • Each tile set has a variety of unique tiles, ranging from 27 unique faces to a huge 60.

Most tiles are universally connectable in all rotations. Be aware that some exceptions exist - Backstreet tiles have some narrow alleys that don't join up to all other tiles in all rotations, but we really wanted those narrow alleys that worked with a grid! Water tiles that feature some shoreline can't join onto every other tile - but this is all common-sense stuff - we make good use of all of these tiles in our own games, and they're all thoroughly tested!

Very nice VTT assets!

However, was wondering what file(s) have the "Fires, Walls and Posts, Furniture 1, Bricks, Planks and Rubble" tiles. All of those pages say at the bottom they are included in this "Jon Hodgson Map Tiles Wave One & Wave Two Digital Pack" set? Thanks!

Hi Rainer,
So that section of text explains in general terms what all of our map tiles are, and notes that the tiles are all available as part of this pack.

The scenery add ons in the Digital Scenery Range like Fires, Walls and so on aren’t map tiles as such and so are not included in the bundle of wave one and two tiles.

I can see how that might be confusing, so we’ll amend that text.

In "Cavern tiles" there are 25 tiles, is it ok?

Yeah, the regular set is missing 2 tiles: "Cave Tile 24 VTT.jpg" and Cave Tile 25 VTT.jpg"
(They are both present in the fuzzy edged set).
Also, the "" has a bunch of duplicates.

Hi Again Rainer!
We’ll check out where those two missing files went!
The gridded tiles were added some time after release by request - originally the digital versions didn’t come with gridded files - most vtt platforms add a grid and so it’s better no to have them. We were asked to include them so we did, repeats and all!

We’ll take a look at where those missing files went, and maybe rationalise the bonus gridded tiles!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
