The Funland Massacre

Watermarked PDF

Stabbo the Clown is back in town and he's ready for more kooky, wacky, goofy, nutty, mixed-up misadventures.

Stabbo is in love, and the girl of his dreams has the bruises to prove it!  She's hiding out from him right now, nursing a fat lip and a broken bone or two.  But true love will not be denied!  Stabbo has conceived a zany plan to get her back.  He will murder one innocent person per day, in silly, mixed-up ways, until she agrees to come out of hiding and be his girl once more.

But how to let her know what he's planning without being able to find her? He's going to have to get on the news. These days you have to do something amazingly awful to get the kind of news coverage he needs. But love makes us do funny things. And Stabbo feels inspired...

"The Funland Massacre" is a huge, 150 page superhero adventure with tons of optional scenes, a customizable plot, dozens of NPCs and seven painstakingly detailed battle maps. You can play it straight through and complete it in a single evening, or pile on the extra plot threads and keep your players busy for months.

This adventure is part of Plain Brown Wrapper Games’ Bedlam City line.  But you don't need to have run any of the other Bedlam City adventures before this one—it stands completely on its own. You don't even need to own a copy of the Bedlam City sourcebook. There's a complete guide to the setting in the back.

Are your heroes brave enough to face the Funland Massacre?

There might be an even easier fix. When we had this issue with Bad Day in Bedlam, the font sometimes displayed weirdly when customers with some versions of Adobe Reader first open the .pdf, but the problem went away when they actually saved the file.

Could that be what people are seeing this time?

Thanks for the post. I didn't think to try that.

I can confirm what Norbert B said. This file has the same problem with the font that we had with "Bad Day in Bedlam". Fortunately, the fix I found with the earlier file works with this file as well.

I am reposting the fix here for anyone who needs it. Follow these instructions and it should look fine:

I opened the file in Adobe Reader. When I opened the file, there was a message across the top of the window that says, “This file claims compliance with the PDF/A standard and has been opened read-only to prevent modification.” To the right of this message is a button labeled “Enable Editing”.

Click on the “Enable Editing” button. It should give the following warning: “Editing a PDF will cause the PDF to no longer comply with PDF/A. Are you sure you wish to continue? NOTE: If PDF/A compliance is required when the editing is complete, be sure to use File ->Save As Other->PDF/A.”

Go ahead and click OK, and then SAVE AS (change the...See more

Note: Changing the name is not really necessary. I always suggest it as a precaution in case something goes wrong, you still have the original file.

I would just love it if there were a POD option. 150 pages as a print-out ist just not cutting it.

And we would very much like to offer one. We've had difficulties working with Drivethrurpg's system in the past, but we hope to be close to a breakthrough.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
