The book features new undead Species, new Archetypes, new Talents, and devastating new spells and Miracles. Champions of Death Includes:

  • Insight into the Great Necromancer Nagash, his history with the Soulbound, and why he may deign to forge a deathly Binding with his own skeletal hands.
  • Rules to play as horrifying Ghouls, skeletal Wights, vindictive Soulblight Vampires, spectral Nighthaunts, or powerful Ossiarch Bonereapers, as well as advice on how and why your character became Soulbound and dozens of sample Short- and Long-term Goals.

  • 20 new Death-focused Archetypes such as the Vampire Lord and Knight of Shrouds, as well as rules for playing sub-factions such as the Blisterskin of the Flesh-eater Courts, the Mortis Praetorians of the Ossiarch Bonereapers, the Vyrkos Dynasty of the Soulblight Gravelords, and many more!
  • Over 50 new Talents, 10 powerful new Miracles of Nagash, and 50 new spells drawn from the twisted Lores of Magic wielded by the undead — including five terrifying new Endless Spells!
  • Over 30 new Endeavours for undead characters to undertake, as well as new Dark Rituals to unleash on your foes — host a grand feast of the Flesh-eater Courts, bestow the Blood Kiss of the Soulblight Vampires, or raise a horde of zombies to do your bidding!
  • Advice for Gamemasters and players on running Death-focused campaigns, as well as statistics for over a dozen servants of the Forces of Order for your Champions of Death to face!

I'm very confused by the Crypt Infernal Courtier archetype. Why do they have the Tooth and Claw talent as an option when they automatically get a talon attack with the Fell Wings talent. Furthermore, why do they get a club and a battle standard when they don't have hands to use them? What am I missing here?

I have to say the subfaction options for Wights really suck. Neither of the (just) two options they have are all that great for most Black Knight or Grave Guard characters. At least Necromancers can also choose from Free Peoples options, but Wights just didn't get thrown a bone here.

On page 5, the text says: "In addition, it provides detailed information on the Binding shown on the front cover of this book, including premade character sheets for quick play." I cannot seem to find these premade character sheets in the file. Perhaps they are in a separate file that is not yet available?

Hey! We had to cut those from the book itself, but we'll be adding them as a separate file soon. Apologies for the confusion!

When you do, can you fix the Nighthaunt achetypes? They are all supposed to be made with 37 XP (since they don't have subfactions and the associated bonus) but half of them are made with only the usual 35 XP.

The ones with 35 XP have a magic item that is equivalent of a Talent, which is effectively the additional 2 XP. We'll add a note explaining that

Thank you for the awesome book!

The only "complaint" I have so far is about the Ossiarch Bonereaper Mortisan archetype. It could use more information about the differences of Soulreapers, Boneshapers and Soulmasons. Since they have different positions in the hierarchy of the Bonereapers and look totally different from each other. The dream solution would be to split them in to three different archetypes :D

Thank you for the clarification in the newest version. Is there a listing of what all was changed beyond this?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
