Tyrnador: Secrets of Tyland

Watermarked PDF

Welcome to Secrets of Tyland, the first campaign for Tyrnador: Fate of Ventar, a Savage Worlds high fantasy setting!

Stranded in the heart of the Tyland Forest, a desolate area in the south of Ventar, the heroes are involved in a complex plot involving a mysterious series of murders happening in the area.

They must find the origin and motivations of the Cult of the Crawler before it is too late.

Secrets of Tyland is a hex-crawl campaign: the players will have almost total freedom in exploring the forest, visiting and discovering locations, and interacting with dozens of NPCs.

In this book, you’ll find:

·         A whole region to explore in the traditional hex-crawl way

·         Ten dungeons and countless locations to explore

·         Ten Faction Quests

·         Fourteen Savage Tales

·         Rumors and Random Events

·         Dozens of new creatures and enemies!

·         The chance to build your own Stronghold!

·         Treasures of Tyland: a chapter detailing exclusive magical (and non-magical) rewards

Are you ready to unravel the Secrets of Tyland? If yes, check your backpack and venture under the dark leaves of the forest!

First of all: great product, I'm really enjoying it. But I do have one question:

Is it intentional that there's no maps (in the main book or the Maps PDF) for the Buried City of the Lurkers, or for Undertown? Every other location with room by room descriptions gets one, but not these two places, which I found strange especially since, being the biggest dungeons by far, a map would be greatly appreciated just to know how the rooms are connected (and also because some rooms, like Room 3 of Undertown, reference a map that apparently doesn't exist).

In the GM's Tips: Alternate Beginnings it is stated that there are notes for scaling the starting adventure if the group aren't using funnel characters but I can't seem to find them. Can someone please point me to them?

Sorry, a small sidebar was cut during layout for space necessities at page 118. It was:

Scaling the Caverns Up [CHEAD]
If the players aren't using funnel characters, feel free to make the River Caverns a little harder, increasing the number of extras of each encounter by one, but only when more than one extra is present (so, if an encounter says Lurkers (2), you can insert three of them, while if it says Vaarathi Lizard (1), it remains one). You can also raise Vigor and Fighting of the Giant Centipede by one die level.

Great adventure, I look forward to running this, I only have one complaint so far... The hex maps are very hard to read in black and white. Otherwords a fantastic Hexcrawl set up that I can't wait to run!.

Are there plans for a PoD on this?

I'd have way more use for a print edition over a pdf of this size!

Yes, if the PDF will have an enough sales, we will have a POD, and buyers of PDF will get a VERY good discount for the POD :)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
