Land of Sonu Vol 2: Worldbreaker

Watermarked PDF

The second volume in the Sonū adventure series further expands the lore of the Land of Sonū, both as a unique setting in which to set your own adventures and with a series of four related, but separate, adventures to run. Inside, you'll find:

  • 4 short adventures.
  • 4 new races (including two originally published in Volume One).
  • An expanded history of the Land of Sonū, including more on the Wardens of Sonū.
  • A regional overview of four factions relevant to the adventures.
  • 19 new creatures, adversaries, and/or allies.

This title requires the Savage Worlds core rules (and was originally designed for the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition).

What's So Special?

This is a low-magic fantasy setting (if you're looking for high fantasy or epic-level magic, there's some other great options out there). Though magic exists, it is often mistrusted and is subtle and unpredictable in its corruption. You can find all the setting rules in the Land of Sonū World Primer (available on DTRPG as a pay-what-you-want product).

Do I Need Volume 1?

Nope! Each volume of Adventures in Sonū is designed to be a standalone product. In general, there is very-little duplicated between volumes (Volume 2 includes the two races from Volume 1 and one creature from Volume 1 - everything else is brand new). Everything you need to run the adventure and create characters is included in this volume and the Savage Worlds core rules. If you also want to use the additional setting rules for the Land of Sonū, then you should also pick up the World Primer.

The Adventures in Sonu series presents new setting information and an interconnected series of adventures that can be run back-to-back or integrated with an existing campaign. The adventures are presented as part of the Land of Sonu, a new, low-magic fantasy setting for the Savage Worlds tabletop roleplaying game, but the locations and adventures can be easily adapted to any fantasy campaign.

The Land of Sonū sounds promising, but I'm a bit confused as to what I should buy.
1- Is it SWADE compatible ?
2- You say Vol Two includes two races from Vol One, does Vol Two replaces Vol One ?
3- What about the bestiary, it also replaces Vol One ?
4- Do I need Vol One, Vol Two and World Primer ?

Also, you should add in the description that it's low magic fantasy instead of only having it on the picture, especially with the company name I would have said it was an Apocalyptic setting. You could also add elements that let us understand where Land of Sonū is different, what make is special, why should I buy it over Savage Eberron, Shaintar, Beast and Barbarians, Hellfrost, Tyranor, Gold & Glory, Gods & Masters, ...

thanks you for your help.

Hi Cyril, Thanks for asking.

1. Yes, it is SWAdE compatible.
2. Volume 2 doesn't replace volume 1. I wanted to make the adventures as standalone as possible rather than force someone to purchase both products to get all the races' abilities (our setting primer only includes the descriptions). Most likely, Volume 1 will be updated with the additional races in the near future.
3. The bestiary is entirely new with one exception (the Shadow Wraith). In general, the bestiary section in both our Adventures in Sonu volumes includes only the creatures you need for the adventures.
4. You do not need Volume 1 or the World Primer, but the World Primer (which is PWYW) gives you more of the flavor and the setting rules.

Finally, what makes this setting different. It is low-magic (I did have that in the cover art, but I obviously need it to the description, too) and I really focused on magic being a dangerous, subtly unpredictable force of nature versus a tool that obeys the wielders...See more

FYI, if this is a SWADE product then you're using the wrong license logo. Please see peginc dot com/licensing/ for details. :)

Thanks for pointing that out. I was using the licensee logo I always have. The cover is updated and I'll update the actual file over the weekend. Have a nice day!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
