Mortal Coil Revised
Regular price: $10.00
Bundle price:
 $5.00
Format:
 PDF
What do your dreams hold? What nightmares lurk in the growing darkness? What strange and twisted realms exist just beyond your sight? What brooding sorcerers commit unspeakable acts, hidden in dank cells beneath the cracked and steaming streets? What unseen beings dwell all around you, real but untouchable? Find out when you play Mortal Coil. Mortal Coil is a supernatural role-playing game. It begins when all of the players create a unique world of fantasy together, with magic powerful or subtle depending on the group's desires. You create characters to explore this world, their magic and passion shaping the stories which spring forth from your mind. You decide if you tell a tale of dark supernatural horror, of wise fools and giants, of the secret wars between sorcerous cabals, or of ...

Swords of Astagar: A Campaign Frame for Mortal Coil
Regular price: $2.00
Bundle price:
 $0.99
Format:
 PDF
Fog lay heavy on the streets of Astagar muffling sound, obscuring sight and dulling the ever-present stink of rotting garbage. Where the denizens of other cities would remain indoors on such a night, Astagar's alleys and secret markets bustled with activity. In the shadowed crowds, a lone figure made its purposeful way across the unlit square that held the Market of Earthly Delights, down Murderer's Alley (whose reputation was greatly exaggerated) to a particular worm-eaten door, where it knocked twice, paused, then knocked twice more with the flat of its hand, whereupon the door opened, spilling warm yellow light into the alley. "A most healthful evening to you, Calomite," said the fat, scar-covered man pointing a crossbow at Yana when she stepped inside.  "Candar, ...

Divinity: A Campaign Frame for Mortal Coil
Regular price: $2.00
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
A man the size of a house sits himself down in the middle of a field. To the east, soot blackens the sky: a city, fresh to industry, stinking of innovation. He watches dully as clouds of smoke reach towards him, like a funereal shroud seeking a corpse. A bright spark leaps from the grass, flitting from dandelion to brush to weed, then settling upon his knee. At the center of the spark, a tiny feminine figure no larger than a thumbnail. She speaks, her voice clear as a bell, "So it's time for you to slumber, too, old friend?" "No stopping it," rumbles the giant. "I have long been too large for the breath of our Maker to move. It fills too many souls, now, and turns their minds away from the old magic." "Divinity," spits the fairy. "In our ...

Twisted 50s: A Campaign Frame for Mortal Coil
Regular price: $2.00
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
She walked into my office like it owed her something, and she already looked like a million dollars. She crossed over to the desk, sat on the client's chair and glared at me like I wasn't allowed on the furniture. "Mr. Ward, I am Deliah Curwen and I want you to find my husband," she said. We shot the breeze for a while and at the end of it I had $100 down payment and her telephone number. When she left, the light in the apartment dimmed a little, as if it was already missing her too. "I don't like it," said my partner Joseph from out of the ether. "I gotta eat, Joe, even if you don't." "She gives me the willies." "Damn it, Joe. It's supposed to work the other way. She's the gal, you're the ghost. She's the one who should be shaking....

The Saint-Germain Legacy: A Campaign Frame for Mortal Coil
Regular price: $2.00
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
The Deathless Man is dead. The Comte de Saint-Germain, master of the Trinosophistick Arts, maker of the elixir of immortality, confidant of Kings and instructor of Magi, died in a cold stone chamber in Eckernförde Castle on the early morning of February 27, 1784. The castle servants searched and itemized his effects: a few clothes and linens, some razors and mirrors and similar gentleman’s accoutrements, a rusty sword, two pistols, and 41 Danish ducats. This devoted bibliophile left no books. This composer of tunes for Bach, this friend of Telemann and Handel left no violin and no sheet music. This man who could grow diamonds from jeweler’s rouge left no gems. The Saint-Germain Legacy is a campaign frame for Mortal Coil written by Kenneth Hite. Someone has stolen the ...

Old Gods: A Campaign Frame for Mortal Coil
Regular price: $2.00
Bundle price:
 $1.00
Format:
 PDF
Down the rough streets of Philadelphia, a solitary figure walks. He is dressed in a shabby suit, giving all outward appearance of a normal person. Perhaps not entirely normal, his pale skin and the dark makeup around his eyes contrast with his pinstriped suit. A neon light shines onto the damp street ahead. It sits above an unassuming door, beer signs illuminating the small windows on either side. The sign reads "The Golden Bough." Old Gods is a campaign frame for Mortal Coil. Old Gods still live among us, fading but not gone. Their followers are all dead and no one makes sacrifices to them any more, but they linger on, powerful yet useless. Old Gods is a fully sketched out setting in the form of a detailed theme document, with all of the world set-up choices written out in...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
