Modular Kit: Pumpkin Ruins

Modular Kit: Pumpkin Ruins is a printable dungeon tileset compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. It can be used as a standalone set, or combined with any same-scale tileset.

Modular Kit: Pumpkin Ruins comprises 73 different tiles that can be printed multiple times and arranged in limitless combinations. Each tile depicts a tunnel or corridor in a collapsed crypt complex, overgrown with pumpkins! Tombs and statues line the alcoves in the walls. Numerous different junctions, turns, small chambers and passageways allow you to create an infinite number of tomb and crypt dungeons.

Also included:
A set of 300dpi full size png files, for poster printing or VTT.
A set of 72dpi VTT-ready PNG files.

This set is compatible with the 2.5D crafting system, a crafting technique for making dungeon tiles more than 2D but not quite 3D. The 2.5D system was created by DM Scotty (Google his forum for tips)

Whats um.. Why are the gridded and non-gridded two different sizes? The grids don't appear to be cropped in. The pumpkins are actually overlaying the grid lines. There seems to be a bit of distortion / warping going on between the two, but without laying them on a grid to compare them, I can't quite make it out.

No sense spending a ton of time on it, either, when I can just ask an author who seems to answer in a respectable time frame anyway. :)

The different size only applies in the VTT folders, and it's just that the gridded ones haven't been scaled in the same process. It's not actually an issue though in a VTT, since they're proportional, and can easily be fitted to a VTT grid. Also, we find the best way to use the modular tiles is to build a layout in Photoshop or similar, save it as a single image, and import that. The pumpkins overlaying the grid is deliberate. We wanted to show the nice pumpkins, and the grid is visible enough for it to be clear where the grid would be. Also, there's no distortion or warping at all. Thanks

Oh yes, I only use the gridded version to make sure that I have the ungridded version lined up perfectly the way that you intended it. That's why I left a comment. With the different sized maps, I'll have to line everything up by eye, and I hate to do that if I can avoid it.

The bit about distortion / warping is only between the gridded and non-gridded version of each image. If you look at both images at the same absolute size (say, both zoomed to 1000px or whatever) on the screen, there's just a bit of pixel movement going on between the two versions. It's not any sort of issue, it's just something I can't explain, I can only scratch my head at it. Since I had a question anyway, I just thought that I would bring that up as well.

I think I mentioned in another thread somewhere on DTRPG, I intend to use these tiles to create a massive lair for the Pumpkin King, as the end game boss for my players in a Halloween inspired campaign. I just want to make sure that I have everything just PERFECT...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
