Watermarked PDF

CHECK THE BUNDLE BELOW FOR ATOMSWORN AND MORE FOR LESS.  Hard times are ahead- for the indefinite future, we're making everything we can readily accessible.

Have you tried Ironsworn, the free, Ennie winning solo/guided play RPG written by Shawn Tomkin?  You should.  Give it a look: Ironsworn

Atomsworn is a primer intended to lay the foundation for Ironsworn gameplay in a modern/sci-fi post-apocalpytic setting rather than the Ironlands.  Atomsworn is not an official Ironsworn product, but is intended to utilize the Ironsworn System Resource Document via the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (  Transitioning the Ironsworn mechanics and themes to a certain sort of post-apocalyptia requires essentially no changes to rules.  Atomsworn sets out to simplify that stage setting by providing a workbook customizing the Atomlands just as Ironsworn does for the Ironlands, provide foe templates adapted to the setting, a new map and region descriptions suited for the genre, a mechanics and a new track and asset to deal with exposure to Radiation, as well as including certain Oracle tables from the Ironsworn SRD for convenient use.

What’s the difference between the two issues?

One of them is a slightly cleaned up version that was updated for the amazon PoD product. Mostly a matter of formatting for their system. The other is lacking some changes we had to make for the PoD file. We wanted to keep both up for folks that were used to the non-PoD file.

Enjoy, friend

Very interesting. Haven't looked at the preview yet.

However, I'm curious about the sort of tone you're going for here. Given that you basing this off Ironsworn, I'm guessing you are going for a grim, gritty and realistic sort of PA setting like Twilight 2000 rather than the sort of gonzo, bizarre science fantasy of Gamma World.

I think the critical distinction is how radiation is treated with the two options being:

1) Radiation is toxic and kills you stone dead.
2) Radiation causes mutations warping your body and mind.

Hi there,

the answer is sort of two-fold. In the Atomland's creation section, you can decide yourself how prevalent things like mutants are, from common to purely mythical beyond real world mutation. It was the intent throughout the Atomlands creation bits to allow for capturing different feels like that, although admittedly there is probably more Gonzo inspiration behind my writing- I'm not sure how badly this bleeds into the product.

The document now contains some mechanics for addressing radiation. As far as the player is concerned in the rules as written, radiation is toxic and will kill you. It would be easy enough to go the other way though, and have that "killing" be more in a sense of your normal human self in favor of something more twisted, but we wanted to keep it simple and scary for our purposes.

Thank you for your interest, sorry for the response delay.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
