Haedra's Shard, Part 1

In this adventure, the player characters find themselves traveling along the foothills north of the Shadow Peaks, heading to the isolated hamlet of Strangehaven. Nestled among the evergreens along the North-Western edge of the Hanging Woods, Strangehaven is a vital source of lumber and hard apple cider to Dhernas and the surrounding baronies.

Mountain tributaries flow from the Shadow Peaks through the Hanging Woods, ending at the village of Strangehaven. Recently, some sort of necrotic alchemical toxin has polluted the water. When the PCs arrive, they discover that the toxin has been warping the minds of the villagers, while also corrupting the local flora and fauna. The PCs are called upon to investigate the increasingly volatile townsfolk and root out the origin of what plagues Strangehaven’s citizens.

Developed by Iron GM and FFG Proofreader Darren West, this is the first of a three part adventure series, which can be run as a standalone game, or as a mini-campaign for the Realms of Terrinoth setting. Though the adventure explores the world of Mennara, it can be converted for use in your own fantasy world. The Genesys Core RulebookRealms of Terrinoth setting, and either Genesys Dice or the Genesys Dice App are required to use this product.

Discalimer - I drew the map for this Adventure.

Reading through this module (to prep for the map) was a delight, its designed well and the story "ain't half bad" (a expression used to describe a good yarn, which is a saying used to say its a great story). The characters have depth and could be used in your own campaigns. And this story flows well, giving your players a number of ways to stumble upon Strangehaven and its mystery and opportunists to explore the town or move on straight to adventure. In all well worth it, and this is only part one!

This adventure was very good. One small note: a map of the city would be nice ... but no problem, this is just the first part ... :D

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
