Saga: the Game ~ Mythic Adventures is the penny-pinchers answer to table top gaming.

A simple one manual game merely requiring a pile of D20 dice, some paper and pencils and you're on your way to creating your own SAGA!

After a great apocalyptic war that raged between the species for centuries, areas of the land are so damaged by magic weaponry that strange magic warps reality. Only the continent of Daroka has survived the ravages of the worst manna corruption. Slowly the various races are attempting to rise out of barbarianism and savagery. Small cities of men and elves have attracted the other races to the walls of fortified cities. Outposts of civilization are peppered across a land that is full of wild magic, lost cities, strange cults and fierce monsters. Beyond the walls of the cities of man and elf, the world is savage and merciless.

The manual contains everything you need! Monsters, Spells, Loremaster guide, Character creation, Character sheets, and complete maps (in gray scale) is on the back cover for ease and convenience.

This manual contains these maps:

A map of the fictional continent of Daroka   A map of the fictious area of Feldspar region    A map of a fictious area of Langston County    A map of a fictious area of Blackshield

Full color maps are available for download individually. You can see all our maps available for sale Here

Hi. Does this come with any adventures included? Also, can this be played true solo (without a DM/GM)? thanks!

Hi Paul,
There aren't any adventures in the manual (there actually was one but the manual got too big and maxed out the print size for one book!) however all of our adventures and campaigns can be found here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/12439/Saga-the-Game/subcategory/29283_29995/Campaigns--Adventures
Saga: the Game isn't something that would work true solo. One Loremaster and one player works great, but you wouldn't be able to play without a Loremaster.

The maps in the PDF are black and white, are there color versions available?

Ah, got it, thanks. Please update the description to clarify that, since it's misleading. I thought color maps would come with it and didn't realize you'd have to pay more for the color versions. I think it's still a great value, it's just better to be clear. ;-)

Can do! Thanks for the note. Also, you got us thinking about offering an updated, full color download in the future. That would be easy to do. (not at all affordable to offer full color printed though!)

Hey Aaron, thanks for the questions! We don't have anything on YouTube but that's an interesting idea. What type of things might you like to see on YouTube?
Saga: the Game is absolutely solo friendly. One LoreMaster and one player is all you need however this LoreMaster recommends that the player create and run more than one character as Saga: the Game can be a brutal system.

Sounds good. I use Mythic and a couple of other things. So it would be cool for me to run 2 characters. As for a YouTube video, just something that gives the feel and flow of the play and combat would be great :)

I'm excited that there is another installment. My fiance and I started playing Saga about half a year or so ago, with the content creators! It's been a blast! We only meet once a month and we always look forward to game days. Not only is the gaming fun and engaging, but learning more about this world and all of it's unique quarks is fun and amusing. I definitely recogmend!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
