This is the English translation of the first French supplement to the role-playing game Barbarians of LemuriaMythic Edition.

Lemurian Chronicles gives you additional background information and new ready-to-play adventures to build on the sagas you’ve started with the Mythic edition—which you’ll also need in order to play. it is fully illustrated in black and white artwork by Emmanuel Roudier.

Here’s what you’ll find inside this 136 pages book:

  • A foreword by Simon Washbourne, designer of Barbarians of Lemuria.

(...) This book gives you many hours of great gaming and is a work to treasure. Every fan of BoL should own at least one copy. If you’ve never played BoL before this work is probably the best reason to start

  • The first detailed description of the Khanate region, its mysteries and its people, with new heroic origins and beasts only found in these harsh northern climes.
  • The Calendar of Satarla, brought to life with local celebrations and adventure seeds.
  • Five brand new ready-to-play adventures. From the frozen wastes of Khanate to the Fire Coast by way of the Axos Mountains, your footloose and penniless Heroes will embark on gripping and death-defying adventures that form an epic tale!
Note: the interior art is B&W, but PoDs versions are printed in "colour book", in order to benefit from a heavier paper, with better page opacity than in the "B&W book" printing option.

Just bought a print copy, here 's another vote for an English version of "Le Dieu voile" too!

Thank you, Luigi C. Glad you like "Lemurian Chronicles". As for "le Dieu voilé", it depends on the success of "Lemurian Chronicles" as I said below, but we hope being able to do it, and sooner than later !

Is this compatible with the Legendary Edition ruleset?
Customer avatar
Vincent B April 23, 2020 1:13 pm UTC
There're slight differences in the game rules between the Mythic Edition and the Legendary Edition, but nothing very important or complicated to adapt I think. A GM who would want to use the adventures would have to adapt the opponents to the Legendary Edition ruleset, though (but as the game system is basically the same, I don't think it'll represent a long or difficult task). Hope it helps!

Hi, Franck F. Thank you for your comment, glad you like it! And to answer to the question you asked me below : "are you planning on translating "Le Dieu Voilé" in the next future as well?"
We'd love to. But, for now, the sales of "Lemurian Chronicles" are a little bit sluggish, and still far from repay the cost of its translation. To put it clear: we're loosing money on this title (again, for now). :)
So, it's difficult to consider translating the new book in this situation (knowing that it risks to be at a loss). But we do sell a copy of "Lemurian Chronicles" once in a while, and we'll try to communicate more on it, so who knows? Maybe it'd possible to translate in English "le Dieu voilé" sooner than expected! (I truly hope so).

And for those who are interested in discovering a video preview of our new book (in French), you can go here :

I am really interested in this title and would like to support your efforts to translate your stuff into English... but, I am usually unwilling to pay for a PDF after I have already purchased a printed copy.

I'll keep this on my radar.

Hi, I am looking for a book that expands the setting to the south of the Pirate Isles, does Chronicles also give more material for the south or does it only focus on the Khanate?
Customer avatar
Vincent B July 08, 2019 8:52 am UTC
Hi Boyan P. "Lemurian Chronicles" gives a description of Khanate, and five adventures in different locations of Lemuria (including one in Khanate), but no additional material for the South, I'm afraid. But of course the adventures are easy to relocate in more southern regions of Lemuria if necessary !

This was an awesome book. A nice balance between the information on Khanate and new scenarios. Any other books in the pipeline being translated into English? Because that would be awesome. I'm hoping for a sourcebook on Valgard.

Thank you, Jarrod, we're glad to know that you appreciated the "Lemurian chronicles".
We're currently working on a new book, which will contain new background elements and a whole campaign (or saga, as we say in BoL). It'll be published in French by the end of the year.
Of course, if Lemurian Chronicles happens to be successful, we'll consider translating in English this new book too!

I'm sure this is a great addition to BoL and i will buy it later.
But working in a publishing company, sentences like these:

Note: the interior art is B&W, but PoDs versions are printed in "colour book", in order to improve image quality.

always make me laugh. ;)

Glad to made you laugh (it's good for health) ! You're right, this sentence isn't really clear. To be more specific, B&W books are printed on 50# white paper, whether color books are printed on 70# white paper, with better page opacity. It's the quality of the paper used that improves image quality, not the fact that it is printed in "color". ;)

I'm fine, thank you.
It's just that this sentence "Note: the interior art is B&W, but PoDs versions are printed in "colour book", in order to improve image quality." doesn't make sense. And i have heard and read this so many times before. But printing a b&w book in colour does nothing but make it more expensive.
So if you think a second about it, this sentence maybe just scares of potential buyers.
Your explanation regarding the paper though, makes it perfectly clear why this is actually a good thing.

You're perfectly right, and I thank you for pointing this out. I changed the sentence accordingly in the product description.
I hope it makes more sense now!

Would be worth buying just for the illustrations. But the scenarios are great too !

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
