Bad Debt - Adventure for Zweihander RPG

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Bad Debt is an introductory adventure for the Zweihander role-playing game. Plunge your players into a grim and perilous world where they must start from the very bottom of the pile. Set in a notorious debtor's prison Bad Debt will see the protagonists struggle to survive in a brutal environment, while trying to resolve a mystery that might, just might, set them free.

Bad Debt is specially written for players who are new to Zweihander. The pregenerated characters are provided in a revised character sheet format, that ensures all the information needed to play is right in front of the players when they need it, including a handy half page summary of the key Zweihander rules. NPC profiles and stat blocks are provided in a helpful condensed format, intended to make running sessions as quick as possible.

The pregenerated characters are

  • Leopold van Nonstein, a rake, whose credit has finally run out
  • Dunstan Berwick, a hedge knight, determined to emerge from gaol with his honour intact
  • Djako, an ogre footpad let down by his former friends
  • Katja Volker, a courtier betrayed into prison
  • Johanna Aigler, an investigator whose clients couldn't pay
  • Odo Rook, a halfling hedge-wise tormented by spirits
Of course should you wish players of Bad Debt can generate their own characters. Just roll up a regular Zweihander character, take away their equipment, assign them a debt they can't pay and you're ready to go.

As well as the scenario Bad Debt includes an in depth description of the Flotte prison, which operates as a prison, a hub for organised crime, and a business. The Flotte could be a great location to add into any existing game of Zweihander for that moment when the player's luck (and credit) run out.

Bad debt should take a GM and four players around four hours to complete, although it could easily be expanded into a mini jailhouse campaign. Alternatively, if you are aiming to run it in a convention slot with limited time, suggestions are included for reducing the running time.

I'll be running this for some co-workers in a month or so -- it looks perfect as an into the game! Thanks for making it!

You're right. No idea how that happened. I'll fix it.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
