With Smaug the Dragon defeated and the Dwarves of Erebor returning to their ancient mansion, the land east of Mirkwood resounds once more with the din of hammer on anvil. King Bard has completed the rebuilding of Dale, the City of Bells. The furnaces of the Lonely Mountain are relit, and the toy-market is reopened. Travellers, merchants and adventurers turn North once again to seek their fortunes as hope returns to Wilderland.
Packed with new information on some of the best-known locales and characters described in The Hobbit, this invaluable guide for players and Loremasters alike describes the Dwarf-hold of Erebor, the city of Dale, the surrounding regions and the many different activities to undertake there.
Also included:
• Rules for creating your own Dragons as well as a set of fearsome foes as examples
• New Dwarven artefacts and enchantments and the art of their making
• The long history of the war between Dwarves and Orcs and relics from that conflict
• Two playable cultures — expanded rules for Dwarves of the Iron Hills and the new Dwarves of the Grey Mountains
• A complete set of journey tables for the region and advice on trips within a city
Lonely Mountain Region Guide contains material previously released as Erebor The Lonely Mountain for The One Ring Roleplaying Game, fully converted to be compatible with Adventures in Middle-earth and the OGL rules.

One of the few times I feel they took a huge step back, as there are already books with both dwarf cultures already in it, this one seems to just retread old ground and make those Dwarves worse. Where in one ring the iron foot armor made sense, and it was a better version of the dwarf wrought, this was a massive step down from its counterpart. The core book armor is 17 ac, immunity to crits, and no disadvantage on stealth. This armor is, if you have 12 dex, 15 ac and no disadvantage on stealth. I feel someone should have had a talk and ask what was the point of this armor as it is worthless by comparison.

There are more than just 3 types of Dwarves in middle earth, this should have had some of the others in here and left the other two alone as they are already in other books. Also they should have done something else with the grey mountain dwarves as it is just a poor version of the Erebor Dwarves. They should have broken away from the DnD lines and made it more of it's own thing with the secondary...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
