This supplement was inspired by a subject discussed in Episode 143 of the Good Friends of Jackson Elias podcast, www.BlasphemousTomes.com; thank you Scott, Matt, and Paul for such an interesting, insightful, and inspiring conversation. Keepers can use this supplement to add sanitytesting gore to combat scenes and psychological tolls to investigators who injure other human beings. The ideas in this supplement assume the players and Keeper have set their Call of Cthulhu game in a more “realistic” and gritty world, as opposed to Pulp Cthulhu which by its very nature is a more “romantic” and adventurous world.

Could you please consider integrating the Optional Hit Location table from Call of Cthulhu 7e on page 127 of the Keeper's guide? It would dovetail perfectly with what is already present in 7th edition Cthulhu at least for an option so Keepers don't need to struggle so much deciding which to use.

I'm looking forward to checking this out. My suggestion would be to not refer to this as a book, however, because it raises false expectations. Brochure, pamphlet, or even "expansive chart" is more accurate for 12 pages.

We are really enjoying this! I love how the damage really engages the character sheet and leaves its mark on the character's stats. One of our players' characters lost two toes last weekend and has to deal with the MOV loss.

Great idea. I'll talk to my layout artist to get his input.

If (when) we make a printer friendly version we'll add it as a extra file that comes with the purchase of the regular version. So folks who already purchased it will be notified of a new file they can download. So, no worries for those that have already bought the book.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
