PLEASE NOTE - there is an update expanded at version of this product >> HERE <<

An adventure into a Giant Ant colony with 3 different procedural methods to make/navigate the labyrinth like maze.

The procedural methods have been applied to the exploration of a maze-like giant insect colony. That said, these methods could easily be retrofitted to any maze-like setup, e.g. patchwork of islets in the Bonesuck Swamp, glades in an impenetrable wood, goblins caves, an overland trade route, an archipelago of mysterious islands in a pirate romp, or rooms in an abandoned space station.

I'm very happy for you to pay nothing for this product; and anything given to me will only be frittered away on RPG-related wares anyway. That said, even a nominal sum like 50 cents seems to bump this thing up the DriveThru charts and encourages me to make more things like this!

XO DTRPG says I never purchased this product back when you and I were discussing it. I'm not sure if that was my oversight, or DTRPG went mental.. but I bought this and the related products again just the same anyway. :D

I see you've done a couple of new things with your hex flower grid and other procedural generators. I'll be absorbing those hungrily momentarily as well. :D

Do the monsters refer to 1st edition or 2nd edition AD&D?

Hi Elias - As written, the monsters are for 1e. But, I’d be surprised if they are much different in 2e. So, you could use the monsters ‘as is’ for 2e, implying the monsters are regional variants of these monsters (if different); or of course, simply look up the 2e stats etc!
Hope that helps

I believe this is absolutely correct. 2nd edition focused on building the formidable Monster Manual that everyone fawned over. The only monster stats that were changed were the ones that were glaringly over-powered. Now it's been decades ago, so don't quote me, but if I recall, only the Banshee and two other monsters were adjusted down due to being severely over powered. It wasn't until recent days when threat levels were applied to monsters that the industry took a serious look in to changing monster stats on a large scale and ironing them out. :)

So, what is the difference between Insight, Clue and Recon?
What the PCs encounter if they land there?

Hi Barney - sorry for the delay in responding. Not sure how I missed this comment.

Recon, insight and clue are three categories for points to gain/spend. Since these are capped, this means the PCs can’t easily amass a full accompaniment of “generic” points. Also, some points are more effective depending on use.

This means there are some tactics on point spends.

Also, the categories are there to encourage narrative description when spending points. When spending insight points to evade the 'hunter' the PCs might offer up the insight: “We learnt that the hunter is attracted by unusual smells, so we covered ourselves in mud to make us harder to detect.” or if trying to find the queen, “We discovered that damp air is associated with ant larvae, so we follow the dampest air currents” etc. 'Recon' might be “We watch some worker ants, there appears to be a certain caste that appears to do no manual work, we decide to follow some of those ants on the hunch they...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
