Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride

Tales of the cursed pyramid and the sleeping tomb of the Mummy Bride have long been a traveler’s tale, passed along by wayward explorers and greedy plunderers alike. Deep within the verdant jungles of the south, amidst a Green Hell of impenetrable jungle, savage cannibals and ancient myth, lies the shattered remnants of a once-powerful civilization and the terrible gods who ruled over them. Rumors swirl of untold riches and un-plundered magic for those brave (or foolish!) enough to claim it. Will your players survive… and what will be left of them?

The Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride is an old school, grindhouse-style combination of classic role playing adventure and devilishly-designed dungeons for levels 5-7, cram-packed with b-movie goodness to challenge even the most seasoned of adventurers.  It’s a module that could only have been made in the primitive jungles of man… where life is cheap!

The 87 page download includes the full module, 8 bonus sepia-toned treasure maps and a 10 page Players Pack that includes a one of kind custom character sheet by Karl Stjernberg!

Do you offer the sepia tone maps without room numbers and legends? I want to use them on a VTT.

I bought aboutv10 mummy type rpg adventures and this was easily the best. Clear maps and text and traps. Useable for anything even cthulhu with a few story twesks. author's understood what makes a good action adventure. For example cannibals are mad and bad rather than misunderstood as seems to be the trend in many rpgs. Less grey more good vs evil action. Great job.

On page 22, the map has a room disconnected from the other rooms, with a question mark instead of a number. Anybody know what that means?

Thanks for bringing this up Bob! As a designer, sometimes when you're designing things, you forget to let everyone else in on what you're doing!

The room is a bit of an Easter Egg - a shout out to those old school dungeons from the early days where there were whole unexplored regions in dungeons that the DM was meant to fill in. As far as game play goes, that room can contain whatever you like. Its meant to be a mystery left completely open for the DM.

Thanks for the question and I hope you enjoy the module! Thanks for the support!

Hey Andy!

I’ve noticed that I can see the review on my laptop
and desktop but I am unable to see it on my iPhone. Upon further investigation, it seems that DriveThru’s site is still being developed for the mobile phone. Some formats seem to work, some don’t. That’s just been my experience so far.

The module is for 5E but is written in the classic style, hearkening back to the old school. That’s why the OSR tag is on there.

If you have any questions or you’d like to see a preview, I’d be more than happy to hook you up. Drop me an email at - I’d love to help!

Thanks for your interest - I appreciate it!

OSR as far as shopping this site means that it can be run with TSR era D&D. Having the OSR tag on a 5e product is misleading and irresponsible.

Thank you. I've gone ahead and taken the designator off. I appreciate the heads up.

Thanks for the clarification! It's probably fine to mention that it follows the OSR style of design/writing (even though it's a 5e product) in the product description, but as mentioned the rule system tag is for describing what game systems/editions it's actually designed to be used with.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
