Saving Saxham

The village of Saxham has been struck by a terrible curse! Or perhaps it’s being terrorized by demons, ghosts, and the undead? Or… was there a terrible storm? Maybe? No one seems to know exactly what happened here. But the villagers are terrified, bizarre monsters roam the forest, and strange lights strike the woods every night at midnight…

ADVENTURE TYPE: Small Sandbox Mystery

"Saving Saxham is a fantastic, slightly weird fantasy-ish/dark fantasy module that provides a truly tricky moral conundrum, a clever story and evocative prose. This feels like a module I’d run in my home-game; it is clever, smart, and yes, fun. It has a very distinct narrative voice and is more creative than a TON of modules I’ve read. This is a true winner, and as a person, I LOVE it." --Thilo G. (

"There is something wonderous and unique about Saving all feels very much like a twisted fairy tale. Saving Saxham is yet another beacon of light and hope in a time where a game of imagination and fantasy has never been more commodified, bland, generic and trite. 7 out of 10." --PrinceofNothing (

"Good magic, good NPC’s, good information transfer (mostly) and a setup that’s not the same as every other adventure under the sun. It’s not perfect, but it’s a damn sight better than most 5e. I’d run it." --Bryce Lynch (

This adventure is intended for characters levels 1 to 3 (5e) or low-level play (OSR). It includes a small village, several wilderness areas, and a simple network of tunnels to explore. Each area contains various encounters and unique magical items. There are many opportunities for combat, but it is possible for players to explore every area and complete every interaction without any combat at all, depending on their choices.

INCLUDES: Story hooks, dialogue prompts, original creature stat blocks, original treasure/items, area overview map, and illustrations.

KEYWORDS: Mystery, ghost, zombie, goblin, elf, sprite, graveyard, cemetery, village, town, tomb

I made a written review, not very good at these since I am still new to 5e and to even DMing things. We really enjoyed this and can't wait to see what comes next! I hope this isn't the end of the Dungeon Age series for 2019! And hope you have a presence on Roll20! I would definitely purchase!

I have only read the preview, but it looks promising. More promising is the fact that Bryce over at gave your adventure a positive review which he rarely does, especially for 5e adventures. It's why I decided to check it out.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
