Nerdhaus Shipping Containers

Add the ever-popular Intermodal Shipping Container to your tabletop scenery with Nerdhaus Industry's 3D printable starter pack. It includes everything you need to build 10, 20, 40, and even 60ft shipping containers for heroic-scale tabletop games in modern, sci-fi, and post-apocalyptic settings.

Assemble individual containers for use as scatter terrain, stack them to build a wasteland fortress of doom, or combine them with other Dragonbite-compatible terrain to build to larger structures. The models are optimized for easy, support-free printing and have plenty of space inside each container for minis and small scatter terrain.

Included in the set are a whopping 50+ models:

  • 2x2", 2x4", and 2x8" shipping containers, with partial and half-container tiles to construct any size container you need.
  • Open and closed versions of three different door styles (traditional, rolling panel, and high-security doors)
  • Frame only container variants whose walls can be switched out for different style options
  • Intersection walls to connect multiple containers into larger structures, and "thin-wall" paneling for more variety in your giant container farm
  • Open hatch floor variants to link different level of your elaborate shipping container structures
  • Roof tiles for each container size, with "Open hatch" variants for roof access
  • Ladder and access panel greebles that snap easily in the floor and roof hatches
  • Beta: Openlock connector versions of the core container tiles, for the OpenLock and OpenForge in the house

If you're looking for industrial and construction-site scatter terrain that compliment this set, our Pay-What-You-Want Modern Scatter Terrain features pallets, barrels, cinder blocks, cable spools, and more — all designed to match the look, feel, and scaling of these shipping containers.

I like the idea but my PrusaSlicer 2.2 is having errors with the doors and walls. I have not tried every one yet but this is the error...
Empty layers detected, the output would not be printable.
Object name: NSC0-door-security.stl
Print z: 2.600000
This is usually caused by negligibly small extrusions or by a faulty model. Try to repair the model or change its orientation on the bed.

The STLs do not have the error icon. If you have any suggestions about settings or repairs I'd be most interested.

I'll take a look as well — we recently re-uploaded several of the components with improved sculpts, so there may be some caching issues. Thanks for the heads up!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
