The Improved Pathfinder Playtest Character Sheet

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price $1.99

This Improved Pathfinder Playtest Character Sheet was made by a dissatisfied Pathfinder Playtest player for other Pathfinder Playtest players who are equally appalled by the vast lack of space and detail on the standard sheet! I mean, who thought that horizontal layout was a good idea, anyway? They should be fired.

TL;DR:

  • 6 pages of everything needed to record your characters' details for the duration of the Pathfinder Playtest!
  • It's a fully-equipped form-fillable PDF with tons of autocalc fields! Do you find the TEML math confusing? This sheet does it all for you!
  • Not into digital tracking? The download comes with an additional printer-friendly sheet!
  • Greyscale palette so your printer doesn't hate you!
  • Designed from scratch using Adobe InDesign!

Because this thing is 6 pages, here’s a rundown on what’s on each page:

  • Page 1 covers all of your basic stats, saving throws, skills, and super-important initiative stuff.
  • Page 2 has sections for your offensive and defensive abilities, including AC, ranged and melee attacks, and relevent proficiencies, as well as actions, reactions, and the like.
  • Page 3 is feats. Just feats. ALL FEATS. Well, except for the handy-dandy note-taking boxes for your ancestry, class, and so on. Those are nifty too.
  • Page 4 is spells and spellcasting. There's enough lines for like 50 spells, so hopefully your super OP 17th-level wizard won't run out of room in his spellbook. That would be tragic.
  • Page 5 has a bunch of slots for your gear and also some boxes to write in details for magic items and stuff!
  • Page 6 is kinda like your character's page in their senior yearbook. I've included sections for physical and personality descriptions, a picture of their face, and their tragic backstory, all designed so well that it makes even the cheerleaders jealous.

This is Pathfinder 2 Playtest material! I know that the playtest is only going on until the end of this year, but I still hope that you'll be able to support my current and future RPG products by downloading, using, and sharing this sheet, and possibly throwing a dollar or two my way if you find what I make useful.

Do you have suggestions on what else I could make? Is there something horribly wrong with this character sheet that I desperately need to fix? Are you super confused with how this thing works? Just feeling lonely today and want to say hello? Leave a review or a comment and I’ll do my best to help!

Hello everyone! Putting this information in a comment here instead of a long email that no one will probably open.

I apologize for never having updated the playtest sheet during the actual playtest period—the end of 2018 was incredibly busy for me and I hardly had any time to play any games, let alone think about modifying this character sheet to update the errata. At this point I am focusing on making my Pathfinder Classic sheet (the redesign, not the original solid-black version) as absolutely perfect as it can possibly be; after that, I will be updating this sheet to comply with the playtest errata. It could be a while though, as I just started back at school and, once again, don't have much free time.

My last goal is to be able to churn out a Pathfinder 2e character sheet with minimum bugs within a few weeks of the system's release, which I'm presuming is still set for this fall. We'll see! Thank you for your continued patronage and for dealing with my promises that I keep breaking...See more

Overall this is great. As a couple have said, it'd be lovely to have it up to date, but that's gravy really. I'd also love to see a place for Deity Info (Deity name, Alignment, Skill, Weapon, and Domain). I know not all characters will use this but these things fuel a number of character/class features. For now I'm putting that in the comments section of the first page, but it'd be great to see it on the base sheet.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! That's a very good point to implement in the future 2e sheet I'll be making like... next year? I'm writing it down so I don't forget. I think at this point in the playtest timeline it doesn't make sense for me to revise the actual layout of this sheet, but I'm working on having a second PDF for download in this product that at least addresses the math of the errata. I'm glad you've found a solution for deity info, though! Stuff like that is why I have the "notes" section on page 1. Thanks again, and if you haven't already left a starred review I would greatly appreciate it!

Another error: The "Trained" toggle for Medicine seems to be broken, and the Trained toggle for Occultism gives a bonus to both Occultism and Medicine.

Oh shoot, how have I not noticed that one yet? Those are usually the first bugs to come up.

Thanks!

Hey, sorry I wasn't able to pay the first time I got it. Just bought it for real this time =P

Question. Are gonna update te calculations to be up to the new errata? I think it's mostly remove Signature and make the untrained to -4+level instead of -2+level.

Thanks for the sheet.

Ahh you're good!! I put all my products up as pay-what-you-want so people can try it out first if they want to—I know even I'm reluctant to drop a couple bucks on a character sheet without knowing if it'll work well for me!! I super appreciate you coming back : )

Also, at this point I'm weighing whether I will update the sheet to match the continued errata releases or not. I'm working almost full-time and (as you've probably gathered from reading other comments) I haven't had the chance to make changes and fixes as quickly as I've been meaning to! I hope you continue to use the sheet even if it's not completely current, though, and I'm really trying to get all the bugs worked out at the very least. Thanks again!

With the errata on untrained, this really needs an update to the calculations now ):
"In any location where it appears, change the value of the untrained proficiency rank to your level minus 4."

Hello! Sorry for such a late reply. I just recently started a new job and haven't had as much time as I would like to fix up the sheet. (definitely copy-pasting this, sorry!)

I'll take a look at the errata while I make a huge batch update to the sheet today (including everyone's feedback that I haven't gotten around to yet). Thank you so much for your continued support!

My range strike damage is setting itself to my strength mod and not letting me put in the weapon damage - example hand crossbow - should be a d6 (flat) but the damage is showing +2 (strength mod)

Yikes I've had this fixed for a while but have been waiting to do bigger fixes before updating the whole file. Should be up within the next 24-48 hours or so, promised this time!

Great sheet!!! My players only wish that there was a place to put all three actions on the sheet such as +10 +5 +0 on attacks. I do know as well that they have gotten rid of signature skills. Is there anything I can help with? I am making no complaints just suggestions.
I also agree about the ranged attack damage not quite working.

Thank you so much for the time in this, it made play test so much easier with my group!!

Just started using this sheet. Just wanted to check to see if Resonance is being calculated correctly? The max value almost always seems to be equal to the Encumbered Bulk value, which makes me think there could be an error there.

You responded to my review and asked me what minor things could be changed. One of them is that there isn’t anywhere to input the penalty you get from wearing armor. It would be great if it calculated automatically to the skills that are affected by it.

I really enjoy this sheet, the quality is above and beyond what they've given us on Roll20 so my online game will be using it.
Two issues I've noticed on the form-fillable pdf are the Ranged Attacks section has the Damage form set to STR MOD (this should be an open form for the damage dice), and the resonance point ability mod for Alchemists is INT, not CHA so having that adjustable might help.
Besides that this sheet's automation is quick, easy, and exceedingly clean with lots of room for descriptions and notes! Very well made.

Thank you so much! I really, truly appreciate the positive feedback. My online game is using it instead of Roll20's sheet as well!

Those two issues are already on my radar—I just gotta scrounge up time to go into the InDesign file and change the text from STR MOD/CHA MOD (in their respective places) to just a general ABILITY MOD, and then go back into Acrobat and put all the form fields back on with some adjustments for the autocalc scripts. You can be sure the next update will have those issue resolved, and it should be sometime in the next week or two! Again, thank you for your feedback (and if you haven't already left a starred review, please consider doing so!)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
