“The Vile and the Voracious” is the third adventure in a 5-book Adventure Arc for PCs levels 9-11. This product is compatible with The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. The Vile and the Voracious is set in the booming prospect town of Darkwood. The third exciting installment of the Darkwood Adventure Arc finds the boomtown of Darkwood facing the threat of invasion by vicious, mutated trolls. It is up to the PCs to venture into the dangerous Trollmaw Hills, locate their lair and end the mutant menace once and for all. Not all is as it seems though, for dark powers and remnants of the past make the PC's job even harder.

This HUGE nearly 170-page adventure begins in Darkwood, a frontier town filled with intrigue and danger. After fielding offers from the various factions in town to rid the region of the troll threat, the PCs embark on a treacherous expedition into the Trollmaw Hills. After finding the lair of the mutant trolls on Rockguzzle Crag the PCs must delve into the strange caves and caverns in which they live. Here they encounter the remnants of the Mockers, a group of powerful fey who ruled the land over 10,000 years before. After adventuring through multiple levels, solving puzzles and fighting many exotic enemies the PCs must face the terrible troll-- Zulshir, the Cannibal King.

Expedition Rules  Continuing the tradition of other SagaRPG products, the developers are proud to introduce a new game mechanic in this adventure-- Expedition Rules. These detailed instructions provide the GM with tools to run a campaign on the edges of civilization that add fun and options for what was once a very mundane aspect of adventuring.

Mutant Template  A new template which details a multitude of physical and mental mutations that can be added to almost any monster, including: vomiting a caustic protoplasm as a cone attack, telepathic communication and mind control, a keen precognitive sense, growing additional limbs, and even gaining a unique bite attack through growing a pharyngeal jaw.

Sidetrek Adventures  In addition to the enormous main adventure, The Vile and the Voracious includes three smaller adventures/locations that allow the PCs to explore the region, meddle in the affairs of two of the Coalitions in town or simply interact and roleplay with the many interesting NPCs to be found in Darkwood.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
