D20 Minigames: Fantasy Grand Prix & Obstacle Course

Take Pathfinder in a Different Way!

This book contains two different kind of mini-games you can play using content from the Pathfinder Core Rulebook. We wanted to explore what other kinds of games were possible in a fantasy world, things beyond just delving dungeons and slaying dragons. This book is (hopefully) the first in a series of short systems that allow you to convert your Pathfinder game into something totally different. In our first entry we include “Fantasy Grand Prix”, a sort of racing game that allows you to play something akin to fantasy Mario Kart, ancient chariot races, or the Palio di Siena (a famous, violent, horse race in Italy) in a fantasy setting. The second is an in depth system for obstacle course and like you might see on Ninja Warrior, Ultimate Beastmaster, or any number of other shows. They ape that style, twisting it to fit a more fantasy context; allowing you to compete in things like the fantasy equivalent of Highland Games, Olympics (particularly a decathlon), events similar to “Ninja Warrior” or “Ultimate Beastmaster”, and even extreme sporting events. Yes, now you can accurately recreate all the torment of the Barkley Marathons with dwarves. Aren’t you excited?

The book uses Pathfinder as it’s base and presents new, more focused, rules for these minigames. Generally, these rules should not be used for an entire game but for segments where they occur or for extended games where they are the main focus.

BRUH! I only found this because I couldn't find he book I was looking for through a normal search. THIS book sounded like it was about a Grand Prix car race.. so I didn't click it except as an afterthought. It is PRECISELY what I was looking for! Kindly rename it to something about racing horses, a classic, cup or derby perhaps?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
