It's the D&D Spring into Savings Sale! From now through March 24th, this title has been marked down by up to 40%! For more values, visit our Spring into Savings sale page.

Eberron was born in 2002 when Wizards of the Coast launched a worldwide search for a new campaign setting.

Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron brings the eponymous campaign setting to the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. This 175 page book gives you everything you need to create an Eberron story or character, exploring the core themes of the setting and the rules to implement them in fifth edition. It includes an overview of Khorvaire and the fantastic city of Sharn, along with a host of background ideas and story hooks.

Playtest material includes the unique races of Eberron, the mystical dragonmarks (including greater dragonmarks and aberrant dragonmarks), and new magic items; this is a living document, and this content will evolve and be updated in response to feedback.

Want to create and publish your own Eberron PDFs?

The Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron can serve as your jumping off point to create your own monsters, adventure modules, and other tabletop content set within Eberron and put it up for sale on the Dungeon Masters Guild.

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

Simple: This one was a scam used to build ERLW.

For reference, several things in the "Eberron: Rising from the Last War" book just got modified in errata: https://media.wizards.com/2020/dnd/downloads/ERftLW-Errata.pdf

Most of those things appear in this product as well. I assume this product will also be updated accordingly?

With the publication of the hard cover, I doubt this will be updated further .

@Julius: I mean, it was already updated with the initial release of E:RftLW, just not since the 2020 errata to that book.

Is there any way to download previous versions of this book? I'd like to also have the version without the changes from Eberron: Rising from the Last War.

I think Adam Bradford (head of D&D Beyond) did add the original UA versions of the races as public homebrew on D&D Beyond (ostensibly with WotC's permission).

Appendix D (the Artificer entry), although listed in the text contents in the pdf, is not marked up as a section in the digital contents. Please could this be fixed?

I just noticed that myself.

The other error I noticed with the appendices: the page numbers listed for all of the appendices in the table of contents are inaccurate, as is obvious by looking at the page numbers of the subsections listed immediately before them in the TOC. Appendix A starts on p. 164, not p. 134; Appendix B is on p. 167, not p. 142; appendix C is on p. 172, not p. 142; and appendix D (which doesn't have a bookmark in the PDF, as you note) is on p. 176, not p. 146.

I'm guessing they edited the TOC to add artificer before layout was finalized and/or before the other content in the body pages was updated. Hopefully both issues can be fixed.

Will WotC update the product listing and Keith Baker's intro in the product to reflect that this is the final version, and not just playtest content anymore?

Hey Vis,

You seem to have purchased this product before. Is it adding more content to the Eberron playing GM? I already have Exploring Eberron, and LFTLW.

Thanks in advance for your input!

I don't think WGtE adds much of note that's not in E:RftLW now.

Is this version of the book going to be updated with the released product, that was finally printed by Wizards, or are they going to force us to purchase a different book? They are different titles overall but I feel if they don't it's like a stab for those who purchased thinking this was going to be the actual design of the product.

As far as I know, this PDF already was updated when RFTLW came out. Note that things that weren't in WGTE to begin with weren't and won't be added to it, other than the Artificer with the Alchemist subclass; things like the other 2 subclasses, the new Orc variant, the adventure, etc. are unique to RFTLW.

Does this book have any fluff that isn't in E:RFtLW?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
