There seems to be a lack of play examples in the core rulebook. How do you play the game? I there's a good amount on character creation and the thoughts behind the rules but there seems to be a lack of guidance in the tutorials on actual play.

First let’s head back to pg.30, the adventure system tutorial. There you’ll find the basics to assist you in building an adventure. As a GM you get customize your custom adventure the way you choose. Or you can take advantage of the three presets available on pages, 50, 52, and 54 to get right in the action. If it’s guidance of how to GM you seek, the best source would be YouTube. I’ll be uploading a GM tutorial in a few hours, to aid others who may have the same question. If my answer didn’t clirify things for you, please by all means reach out and I’ll be glad to assist you further.

Sorry, I have a habit of skimming for 'play through' examples because I find it quicker to get a feel how the game is played that way. I found something close to it on pg.29 under the 'basic combat' heading.

Liked the game. I can see there's folks trying to sandbag the author here. Let's put it this way, if the description doesn't convince you, then don't buy it. I've never found it to be good policy to XXX on people's work. It's a nice standalone home brew for those with open minds.

Thank you, unfortunately for certain individuals they deliberately purchased a tiny digital star and the privilege of a now forfeit review. The only thing I must say here is that these individuals represent a minority and have a very lengthy history of relentless harassment on social media. Whether this was driven by jealousy, racism or any other form of negative motivator these individuals have failed. I'm proud of my hard work and I can assure to those reading There's no such thing as blank pages or grammar errors in my books. I do recommend using Acrobat Reader on both PC and Smartphones to get the most out of it.

Hello for all fellow members asking about a preview of the rules, I'd like to leave you with some insight of what's inside of the book and the 2 campaign books without spoilers. Also my guess, if the creator didn't post here yet, is either because he didn't see it or maybe he wishes to keep quiet?
I purchased the core book a while back and honestly the content was much better than expected. Mind I bought the book when it was still on sale and I was ready for a disappointment. However what I found was a professionally made game with a fine touch of home brew. The game offers a Medieval setting like mentioned in the description, The combat system is pretty straight forward with the average battle lasting just the perfect amount of turns. The game functions heavily on Polyhedral dice, mostly d20's.
The core book comes with a few premade quests with some fun and meaningful objectives. Generally meant for 2 to 5 players including the GM. which means a max party of 4!

Sure, the system is what makes the game stand out from other tabletop rpgs. I'll normally alternate between GM and PC every other game with my buddies. Starting with the flexibility you have, it's very easy to add your custom items, weapons and armor. That is if you don't want to use all or some of the 46 presets included in these categories. Same goes for the 23 enemy presets and about another 45 other presets for skills and spells not counting the new stuff included in the campaign books. Battles are turn based which normally involves a speed check to see who goes first. It's a straight forward formula that calculates attack and damage taken based on a character's stats and a little more technical for other skills, spells, etc... The GM makes all the difference as you have room to create your custom dungeons and places with some really neat adventure sheets or you can narrate the story from the campaign books which offer a ton of choices players can pick from or even make up their own choices too. While William clarified some of the game mechanics to you and others, I've updated the game description a tiny bit to reflect the book is a complete standalone title with absolutely zero dependencies to other games and dice systems out there. With K&L books you'll always get the best. K&L strives to cut conflicts and downtime between players and GMs with simpler straight forward rules. Because time is precious in our everyday lives, game sessions should no longer be delayed over disagreements.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
