D100 Dungeon is a game in which you will steer an Adventurer through underground caves and dungeons, looking for lost treasures and completing dangerous quests. With each game your Adventurer will gain wealth, recognition and become stronger and more skillful in their pursuits. All you will need to play D100 Dungeon, is a pencil, eraser, a few dice and your imagination.

Your journey begins when you create an Adventurer and start performing the dungeon training missions. Once they have been successfully completed your Adventurer will be ready to face some greater challenges and begin questing in an endeavour to gain notoriety and wealth, rivalling that of royalty, and who knows one day their greatest exploits might even become stories and songs performed by bards in every tavern throughout the Kingdom.

This is Version 3, the most up-to-date version available.

Not sure what version it is, but at some point there was a printable version out there. I know I have a PDF copy of it myself because I've printed it. I'm also with the folks that would likely buy the current PDF, if it was printable. I'd even consider it at the high price point for a digital copy that has essentially zero cost on the publisher/writer to deliver since they had to make the PDF for the print shop to use to make books anyway. Best of luck to those looking for a printable version!

I was intending to buy but I print out my PDF games spiral bound as it fits best in my game space. Thank you for making it clear that it’s not printable but would like to see that restriction lifted especially at this price point.

Hi there. To be honest, martin gives me a hard time to appreciate his work. played a bit with v2.2 and would love to buy either a printed product or print it from pdf on my own to create my personal copy with tabs and cover and stuff... .

Self printing sadly does not work and to buy a printed version is far to expensive because of the shipping costs to austria.

No ranting here, just one more note from another disappointed guy.

Well... What shall I say? Saw that this PDF wasn't printable and read some comments of fellow geeks who don't understand this policy either. But if the author has his reasons, who am I to object? So I was at a crossroad this morning : stick with the PNP option or "support" the author? Reluctantly, I still went with the latter and purchased the "set". Mostly because I enjoy the system so much and I was curious what v3 would bring to the table. As for the printing part : I'm going on a holiday in 2 days and I have no ereader nor am I planning on bringing a portable along. That's just the way I prefer to go to a sunny location : no electronics but with a nice collection of papers (books eg). Let's just say that v3 is now coming along for the ride in a format that's quite 'papery'. I respect the author's wishes to disable the printing option but hope he respects the wishes of some players wishing to do their thing with their purchased products.

Based on his replies, I doubt Martin is listening, but I came here straight from YouTube after listening to a review of the Adventure's book intending to buy it and the main book.

The lack of print option on the PDF has cost you two pdf purchases today. I suspect I could get around the print protection fairly easily, but I'd rather spend that time doing something in gaming.

PS. Your comment about PDF being the only option here is incorrect. I have lots of DTRPG purchases in ePub format, which is a much better choice for many readers.

This is a great game, take the time to learn it and you will enjoy the game. Look up his youtube videos and ask him questions I'm sure he will answer.
I'm more of a solitary player and this game is perfect for me. I appreciate what is has done.

Thank you Mr Knight
Keep up what you are doing.

Came here to buy the pdf. Cannot print it out XXX? No rhyme or reason why so it would seem from the publisher.

This seems like an odd choice for someone who put so much work into something for people to use. Charge $20-$25 bucks for a printable pdf that will receive updates and errata incorporated as time marches by and people will pay for it. GURPS is a good example of this philosophy. Their pdfs cost more than usual, but they also keep them up to date and are (for the most part) constantly fixing the body of work and eliminating errata.

I was going to incorporate D100 Dungeon with Mythic GME and possibly Savage Worlds but Ill pass for now.

This is a very nice game, however I wanted to point out something that should be errata'd ASAP. On page 54 of the D100 Dungeon pdf (Quests table), the first training quest reads as follows:

DUNGEON TRAINING 1 Enc mod: -40 [E: +50gp] [F: -1/2gp]

I was confused for awhile because I didn't understand what the "E +50gp" meant, but figured out after a while that it was supposed to be an "S", meaning [Success: +50 gp]. Seems like a small typo, however those little things can confuse new players like myself. Please think about correcting that, and keep up the good work!!

I have to agree with the group, Martin I have played the free version and love the game, and I want to support you but in order to get the printed copy of the game from Drive thru games in a reasonable amount of time ( under 5 weeks) I would need to pay more for postage then the game itself. I would have bought the PDF version if it was printable as the alternative but I am only interested in the game because it is pencil, paper and dice rolling. If I am going to play a dungeon delver on my computer it wouldn't be a D100 dungeon style. Sorry, I think you deserve the support but you are definitely trying to cater to the wrong crowd.

@Martin K

1) Please put a version number either on the cover, pg 3 or better yet on the footer of each page.
2) If you wish to have a non-printable format for eReaders, please consider EPUB over PDF. Viewing the PDF on smaller screens is painful. I though this would be okay on my tablet, but it is not. PDF is not a reflowable format. I am stuck to using my Laptop which to me is less portable

Other than that, seems to be a good system.

I don't see the issue. Unless Martin had a change of heart? I received the PDF as a Christmas gift and was able to print it off no problem. By the way, this game is really cool! Thanks Martin

I’ve ordered the Hardcover + PDF version, and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the printed material. In the meantime, I’ve played the 1st introductory quest using the PDF (on my iPad), and I have to say, I am already hooked to the game!

I just want to say I support the creator’s decisions on how he wants his book to be distributed. The no-print PDF is a non-issue for me. I just think of it as I bought a hardcover book with a PDF as a bonus. I prefer printed material anyway, and moreover, I am a fan of hardbound books for my RPGs (I have all the core rulebooks of all D&D editions!).

Great work on D100 Dungeon, Martin! Can’t wait for the expansion to come out!

I've played V2 and this game is really cool. I had planned on upgrading to V3 but noticed no print option. After reading some of the comments its clear there's no indication this option will change. Not sure why your opting to lose customers to prevent something so inconsequential. And something I know I could do in about 5 minutes if I tried.

For those that buy the book, would an errata sheet which is printable, ever be offered when there is sufficient updates?

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
