"The quality of the artwork and colors blew my players away." by J.F. Kelly via Geek Dad

"The artwork from Black Scrolls Games is some of the best I've seen. If you are into RPG gaming, you owe it to yourself to check out their products." by K. Williams

"Just got these in the mail today and they look FANTASTIC!" by Nathan D. via DriveThruRPG for our Modular Inn tiles

"This is one of the best battlemats that I've ever seen. It features the same gorgeous near-photorealistic look that you find in both Lord Zsezse Works and Black Scrolls Games products. Each tile is distinct and many have elements that help inspire your storytelling... Just get it..." by Jacob R. for our Tropical Islands set

"I ordered them just to see if the product was as good as said.... WOW. Great map design. It is really great en realistic 3D, and that on a flat surface. The material is great and of high quality. And has a handy format. Also being able to just tape them together and use dry-erase pens... I am a big fan and will order more of these." by  Roy B for our Keeper of the Realms map

I've created my products because they make my work easier as a Game Master, and game sessions are more enjoyable with them. As usual, this set has become much bigger than I planned, but I didn't want to give you a half-finished product or earn money on later expansions. I've forged all of my experience and knowledge I collected as GM and 3D artist in the past years into these tiles and I hope you will enjoy them at least as much as I enjoyed working on them. If you still have questions, please read the FAQ below or write to me in the comment section, I will try to reply you as soon as I can.

Have a good game, fellow gamers!

- Can I write on the printed version?
These tiles are finished with a low-gloss UV coating on both sides, which makes them water-drop resistant. You can write on them with wet-erase markers, ; you can remove them without any stains.

- How can I attach the tiles to each other?
You can easily attach them with transparent tape strains. Due to the finish of the surface, they will not remove the paint and will be almost invisible. Or you can use tablecloth, tiles will slide less on it.

- Isn’t it too complicated to plan a map from these tiles?
Not at all, I’ve attached printable draft pages that contains the tiles in B&W and in a smaller format. They also include the page number where you can find the tile. You can print and cut them out to plan your big map, and when you finish, you will see which tiles you need for your map and what page you can find them on.

- I’m from Europe, can I still order printed cards?
Hey, I live in Europe (Hungary), too! Because the tiles will be printed in the U.S., the only way to lower your cost of shipping is if you order more printed products from me, because you will get them in one package and shipping fee will not change. Look around among my products below, perhaps you will find something that you would also like to see on your tabletop.

Do you have a way to connect the tiles so they don't slide around? Also, what is the best way to reinforce the bottom of the tile? Cardboard? Foam? Is there a secret easier way that doesn't make it too bulky or bends the tiles?

WargameVault won't let me leave a review so I will just publish it here. 2 out of 5 stars.

This was a learning experience. I purchased a printed version of this set along with a tomb set from the same company, expecting a high-quality print on reasonably thick cardstock. (You will find this same review there.) The print job was great, but the tiles came on thin, warping photo paper. The description says they are coated in a layer that allows dry-erase markers, but I'm skeptical of that claim and won't test it out. One of the tiles already had a small scratch on it, so I'm not sure how well they will hold up once I place miniatures on them. In fact, I don't know if I will ever use these tiles given they do not lay flat on the table.

I would mount them on cardstock but given they are double-sided, that would defeat the purpose. My suggestion is to buy the PDF instead and print them out yourself. It will cost more money in terms of the ink and paper you use, but you can at least mount them...See more

Hello, thank you for your review!
If you received damaged or warped pieces please contact DriveThruRPG customer support and they will probably solve this problem for you by sending you another copy or money back.
Unfortunately, we as a publisher here have no sight of what is happening in the print shop, printed tiles and books are the services of DriveThruRPG and we cannot see or manage anything as a publisher here on the site. If I had any influence I would give your money back and send the digital files to you, but I'm sure they will try to solve this problem for you, too.
I hope it helps a bit and you will enjoy the art of the areas we created.

How would these printed tiles work with something like zombicide Black Plague minis that are closer to heroic 32mm scale? Curious about the grid size or even just the grid-less.

Hello, we have a free map from these tiles:
you can see the grid lines and gridless versions if you turn that option on/off with the layers within the PDF. If you print a page you'll see if you can use them. Thank you!

Are the digital versions suitable for Foundry VTT?
Customer avatar
Antal K November 25, 2021 7:24 am UTC
If you can load up pictures (JPG and PNG) in Foundry VTT to use them as your own map then yes, those will work with that VTT. In the digital version you'll receive the tiles as home-printable PDF files, and the same areas in digital JPG and PNG files to use them online. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
