Clans of the Dark Isle Campaign Setting Core Book

Watermarked PDF

Clans of the Dark Isle is a new fantasy role playing game campaign setting for your favorite game system. Inside this book you will find a wealth of information detailing the land of Eiledon, a nation on what is known as the Dark Isle. Eiledon, once the domain of elves and gnomes, is now dominated by humans. Despite their numbers, the humans are not free. They are subject to the occupying army of their neighbor, Arthain, and are tormented by horrific monsters from the evil mists. It is time to bring back the tradition of heroes. It is time to unite the clans. It is time to throw off the yolk of Arthish oppression. It is time to name a king or queen for Eiledon.

Some of what you will find inside:

176 pages of information

4 new classes

25 new feats

29 new spells

16 new monsters

A Message from the Creator -- This is a campaign setting meant to be used with the d20 3.5 SRD. This is not because I am an old-school grognard resistant to change. A lower-tech version of this book was ready to go in 2004 and then abandoned when work took my life in another direction. Clearly the tabletop gaming world has moved on since then. Still, most of the information contained in this work has value for a modern fantasy role playing game. This has been a labor of love, a fantasy world that is made up the way I would like it to be. It is now time for me to share it with all of the rest of my fellow tabletop rpg fans out there. It is my world and now you can play in it.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
