Operators RPG

Operators is an RPG designed to tell cinematic action movies at the table. Whether you like challenge-based play in the evin of Tom Clancian technothrillers or the near-future technological heists of Mission:ImpossibleOperators has you covered.

In this standalone game you will find:
- An all-new core mechanic that introduces last minute complications in order to generate breakneck action movie pacing and tension.
- In-depth rules that put the narrative and fiction first and play at the classic tropes we look for in the genre that include heists and hobs, kinetic fights, and high-octane chases.
- Rules to play action, spy, and military thrillers.
- Detailed and realistic background information as well as special rules for playing the game in a challenging technothriller mode.
- A toolkit to help the game runner generate compelling antagonists and hit all the right action thriller notes.
You can also download a QuickStart of the game that was put together for the Kickstarter campaign here:

Sorry for the late reply. What do you want the sheet up as a purchase? If you just need the sheets I'll leave them up for download here:!Al0cvnkAfV0Z4FcU9g0SkNnGP817

Picked up from Noble Knight, so used and not in line with bits and mortar policy. Thanks for the link as I don't have the full .pdf!

Is there a print version available anywhere?

Yes! If you’re in the states Indie Press Revolution has copies, if you’re anywhere else it’s probably cheaper to get it directly from us at

    OK -- good and bad.
    1. I love the game. The mechanics are simple, the tone and visuals set the mood for the game, the character creation system is quick & allows for unique characters.

The mechanics in particular are great -- just roll 4 Fate dice. You have to get more +'s than your rating in the action (1-3, 3 is a poor skill). Extra plusses give success with style, - on the roll give consequences. Cards support narrative storytelling by the players. It isn't a FATE rules system, it just uses FATE dice.

    2. The poor -- this really pisses me off. I spent $15 to get a complete game...but it is not a complete game. In order to use the rules, I'll have to purchase the cards separately. That is VERY not cool

    Hi there,

The cards are not required to play the game, they’re there just to help with narrating fight and chase sequences. You can simply roll the dice and narrate each beat yourself without the card prompts to help generate ideas without any issue.

Or perhaps use specialized dice such as story cubes and hit location dice?

Under Rule System(s) in the product description (right hand side of the screen, right under the author's name) this should be "FATE," as it's a FATE rules game. FYI.

I didn’t really feel comfortable listing it as a Fate game even though it does use Fate/fudge dice and is very much influenced by it. The resolution system is entirely different though and I think that’s what people looking in the Fate category would be looking for.

Any chance you could expand out the preview PDF to include just a little about the rules engine you use?

That could increase your sales--I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees rules as a 'make or break' situation.

There apparently is a Quick Start that was made available during the Kickstarter that might help:

    Hey, thanks.

Hopefully the publisher will see this and add a link to the QS within the product description.

I’ll add it to the description! Settings show the preview should also be showing the first 30 pages, too.

    Hi there,

Last I checked drivethruRPG no longer supports graphic novel size POD printing unfortunately (neither does Lulu). Physical copies are available at Indie Press Revolution (cheap shipping within the US) or from us at where we have cheaper international shipping. Same goes for the cards.

Yeah, well i live in the EU, so IPR is not really an option, unfortunately.
Well, the cards are pretty essential in my opinion and to me they are the top selling point for this game (i loved how they did close combat in Haven - City of Violence). So 50€ for the prints are not exactly cheap either.

The cards are on our site for $20 including shipping anywhere in the world. That’d why I said IPR for domestic, our site for anywhere else (, living in Canada I know how much international shipping from the states can be.

I hadn’t heard of Haven, I’ll have to check it out!

    Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
    Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
