Animal Lords of Porphyra

Who Speaks for the Beasts- it is the unstoppable Animal Lord!

“And the being, not quite a man, more than a beast, stood on the ridge, ropy hair blowing in the breeze, tusks ready to do battle with the interlopers on the tundra, sole domain of the mammoths…”

The animals had their own kingdom before the coming of Man, Elf, Orc or Dragon on Porphyra, and had their own kings… but the coming of the two-leggers brought new conditions to nature, and some humanoids have merged with it. Uncommonly in tune with the ways of specific animal families, Animal Lords take on the characteristics of their chosen species, and grow intimately in touch with their ways!

Animal Lords of Porphyra is a new 20-level heroic class from Carl Cramer and published by Purple Duck Games, featuring the new class and all of its powers, abilities, and permutations of many animal families. Will you become the sole Canine Lord of your land? Perhaps the clever Cat Lord, or the craven Rat Lord? Perhaps the dangerous Shark Lord or primeval Dinosaur Lord… There are many possibilities with Animal Lords of Porphyra. This class comes with tho archetypes, the serker barbarian archetype that blends warriors of old with the animal lord, and the beast-king animal lord archetype that allows the animal lord to call others of its kind to its side, to do battle on the Patchwork Planet of Porphyra!

So get your copy of Animal Lords of Porphyra from the vulpine velociraptors at Purple Duck Games, where our games are what you want!

This is the first release for the Porphyra Roleplaying Game. It will be updated to remain consistent with the rules as they develop.

Let's say if you decide to scrap the FCB, then the book would be updated likewise I guess?

Yes. That is the intent. Blue books should remain compatible with the work-in-progress blue book.

Not used to seeing blue cover from PDGs. So yellow is dcc, purple is pfrpg, and blue is porphyra. First question, by "update" do you mean we are going to see the changes of rules to new porphyra one's in the future? As of now I see it is quite compatible to theworlds second most famous d20 roleplaying game. And what about the hybrid classes and other books that you've published under the old ruleset, are you going to compile it like you did with ultimate covenant magic at some point or revamp it with new rules?

I'm not 100% sure I was ready for blue covers either but I needed to differentiate old Porphyra from new Porphyra. I suspect the blue books will remain largely compatible with the current version of the second most famous game.

I plan to always update the blue books. And either incorporate purple material into the new system or update it on my porphyra wiki.

I don't want to lose what has come before.

Yup not losing what has come before is point here, I think. I had to question myself, after all these years of investing in one of biggest rulesets of our time, would I willingly diverge the focus to new ruleset? But I think my worries are unfound. "Largely compatible" just makes me feel comfortable with new ruleset. You can consider what other 3pp have preferably went through with their products that are both pfrpg and 5e compatible as an option. Like those products, you can have porphyra in black ink while leaving options for pfrpg in purple word like you have done in playtest document?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
