POST MORTEM BUNDLE INFORMATION:

Hope (original) was meant to be a lightweight game that I could expand upon as I went. Life happened and It was simply too difficult to keep the promises, plans, and schedules I wanted. I took HOPE out of distribution for several months but left the peripheral supplements for those who may be interested in them and already had the base game.

In it's wake, I created a lighter engine for narrative first gaming that fits on a single page and recreated HOPE as a single page module for that. While this works for me, others have expressed interest in the original being brought back into circulation, so I decided I would but as a bundle of all the content I made for it.

The game is, as of this writing, dead with no plans of revival. Just like the worlds you're meant to play within. Take this and make do with what you have to make life comfortable.

Cheers!

In Hope, you will take characters out into the wastelands of a nuclear world. You will risk life and limb to bring back essential supplies to build and grow a stronger community. You will face bizarre mutants and carnivorous plants, wild men and starving raiders. You will gamble every time you venture out with the few supplies that can be provided to you.

Everything you need to know about hope can be summed up as follows:

- Post-apocalyptic base building.

- Quick character creation and organic progression

  - Make a character in no time and progress the skills you use BY USING THEM.

- d10 Bounded Accuracy Roll-Under mechanic.

- Generate an entire map of places for the Players to explore

- Generate Missions to drive exploration

- Generate and build custom enemies to throw at your PCs; from Road-Warrior-esque marauders to mutant Man-Bear-fungi (Sorry Al Gore!)

The Hope Travel Companion is a series of narrative setting guides.

In Volume 1 you will find the experiences of a travel-weary scholar named Nicholas. Travel with him across a Southern United Wastelands of America as he retells of the dangers he experienced and details some other mutants reported to him.

Inside you will find:

- 9 locations

- 4 enemy factions, each with a Tested leader.

- 5 beasts and 8 plants to fight

- And every page has a piece of setting lore or history. Except for the last two pages, which are a map and location key!

I am not allowed to write a review, because I'm using my publisher account, so I'll write a comment instead.

"Hope" is a neat and easy to learn post-apo (for some reason it's hard to find a lot of generic games of this genre in english). "Hope" is easy to to pick up and understand by players and GMs - you simply play as a band of survivors in a nuclear wasteland, and you try to help your city. You look for food, materials, defend people from radioactive fire-breathing squirrels and all the other fun stuff you can do, after some a**holes dropped bombs many years ago. Your adventures will mostly take place in the titular city called "Hope", but you can really generate any other city you wish, even in regions outside the US.

Rules are quite simple - tests are made by rolling 2d10. One die is the resolution die, the other one is the critical die. Battles, looking for loot, camping and travelling however have their own rules. The battle rules actually suprised...See more

Thank you for your inquiry and I hope everything is to your satisfaction!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
