Adolescent Supernatural Mischief In The 1980's!

Using the vs. M Engine created by Phillip Reed!

vs. Stranger Stuff is a rules-light tabletop roleplaying game of 1980’s inspired adventure, horror, and science fiction, where you play as “Kids” in their teens. But it’s not just homework and asking someone to the dance that are the terrors they need to face. Clearly influenced by the hit Netflix series, but also the great films that inspired that show, vs. Stranger Stuff — Season 2takes the original mini-game released by Fat Goblin Games and offers revised rules with some optional changes like playing the game in Easy, Normal, or Hard Mode, and clarifications that help to keep the game compatible with existing adventures, but also prepare the Kids for totally different dangers still to come.

The book also includes an all-new adventure by Kiel Howell — The Mask Behind the Makeup— that can be used as either a starting place for brand-new characters, or as a chance for veteran players to regroup and rearm their Kids for a brand new round of mystery, terror, and excitement!

This book also has new rules and suggestions for designing your own hometown for the Kids as well as giving a detailed backdrop in the form of Crestview Hills, a sleepy bedroom community just an hour away from the city, but that acts as an odd focal point for ‘Strange Stuff’ indeed.

vs. Stranger Stuff is a complete roleplaying game using the vs. M Engine in a slimmed-down and quick to use format. Even novice gamers will have no problem creating interesting characters, learning the rules, and starting a game. All you need is paper, pencils, a deck of playing cards, and a few friends.

Make sure to pick up all our vs.M Engine powered products!

Hi, the Quick Preview is tiny and completely illegible. I just wanted to check the ToC for total pages, and I can't even read it.

Great work, I love the setting!

Can we get a "print friendly" version? I'm viewing the pdf on a fairly new tablet, & it's taking several seconds to load each page.
Even on my PC (a high-end gaming laptop), the text on the PDF doesn't load instantly like on a normal PDF.

I would like to say a really big thank you to Rick for the help he has given me in setting up a club at school. The game itself is fantastic and I would recommend to any fan of Stranger Things or any of those classic 80s teen movies.

Hi, I run a club in a school for socially challenged teenagers. I have a group of girls who love watching stranger things. I am looking to run this game with them as I feel it could be a great way for them to open up and interact. Do sell any posters that I could use to advertise around the school. Many thanks

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
