MugShots: The Case of the Pacific Clipper - solitaire and GM adventure. It's a quiet fall day in San Francisco. The year is 1937. The newspapers are all abuzz with news about the military buildup of Japan and the invasion of China. The offices of the Eureka Detective Agency are open for business and you're about to be handed the biggest case of your career. Juan T. Knight, the President of Pan Global Airways, has just called and wants you to come down to the airfield to solve a mystery. What's happening to the pacific clipper fleet? Is it sabotage? Revenge? Maybe even for the insurance. You have no idea, but you can bet there's far more to this case than meets the eye...

This is the first in a series of Role-Playing books for contemporary adventures. Usable with Mercenaries, Spies & Private Eyes, this book contains a full-length solitaire adventure, Gamemasters maps and descriptions of plenty of characters from the 1930's for use in your own contemporary adventures. Plus a blank MSPE character sheet so you can roll up your own characters.

Written by Dungeons & Dragons co-creator Dave Arenson and fully illustrated by T&T artist Steve Crompton.  84 pages of pulp adventure! (Note: THis is the updated version from the 2019 Kickstarter)

Is there any chance that Mugshots 2 will be available from DriveThruRPG in the future?

A good solitaire from back in the day; I've played this one more than a few times! Nice to see it here.

Thanks! I just spent a week scanning and enhancing this adventure. Its really amazing to think that Dave Arneson wrote an adventure for a spin-off rpg to Tunnels & Trolls. We decided to release it due to the great response we got from finally putting Mercenaries, Spies & Private Eyes on Drive-thru. Enjoy! This is a great solo and gm adventure written by one of the industries founding fathers!

Written by the legendary Arneson, preserved in digital form by the legendary Crompton! (speaking of the importance of digital preservation and the legend that is you: so glad to see the Citybooks finally in PDF as well)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
