Space, the Final Frontier

These are the Voyages: Volume 1 presents eight ready-to-play missions for Star Trek Adventures. Within this book Gamemasters will find the means to test their Starfleet officers at the front line of Starfleet operations. Create your own Star Trek stories of discovery and adventure on the Final Frontier.

• 8 ready to play missions using the 2d20 game system from Modiphius Entertainment adapted for Star Trek Adventures, and requires the Star Trek Adventures core rulebook to play.

• Uncover the truth about an anomalous wormhole that has trapped an older starship vessel.

• Weigh up the dilemma of the Prime Directive with an intelligent species that originates outside the confines of normal space and time, subjugated by another civilization.

• Rescue a Federation science vessel, drifting dangerously inside the Romulan Neutral Zone, avoiding an escalation into war.

• Investigate strange events on Carina VII, where a colony is rapidly disintegrating around its foundations.

• Explore a strange alien space station, containing a massive forest eco-system of its own.

• Foil plans to spread a long dead plague and uncover the truths of its origin.

• Stop the theft of an experimental torpedo and pursue its thieves to expose their plot.

• Respond to a distress signal from a mining colony in revolt and discover new life in its mines.

Keep hailing frequencies open to see the full range of forthcoming Star Trek Adventures products. Hardcover supplements await along with lots of accessories including maps, gaming tiles, dice sets and the Borg Cube Collector’s Edition game box.

I'd be interested to know how other groups handled "That Which Is Unknown". My players destroyed the freighter with photon torpedoes the instant the Klingons uncloaked, ID'ed the ships, didn't bother chasing them (there was no need to) and solved the WhoDoneIt about 5 minutes later...

Is there ship combat in any of these missions? I'm not sure if any of these missions are in depth as the D&D 5e starter set adventure. What does the depth look like? thanks

Some of the missions include the possibility of space combat. I haven't read the 5e starter set so can't compare the TATV adventures to it. Each TATV adventure is a complete standalone story. Hope that helps.

How about a printer friendly version like the core rulebook had?! That is a LOT of black ink

Those sound good. Might be helpful to say what era they're designed for.

I don't own it, but based on the corebook I would guess they're era-agnostic but inclined toward late TNG/early DS9.

Most of them are written for the TNG/DS9/VOY era, though the first one was written for TOS and a couple are largely era-agnostic. All of the adventures include sidebars that offer suggestions on how to adjust the adventure for a different era of play.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
