Ma Zaan 5e Campaign Setting (World of Myrr)

Watermarked PDF

The World of Myrr (MEER) was inspired by the classic fantasy RPG settings. Ma Zaan is the second of nine continents in Myrr. It is a highly detailed, 167 page book. This can be used for 5th Edition adventures and can be used with other fantasy RPGs.

Dwarves, Dukes, and Devilfolk! Discover the turbulent homeland of the dwarves, tieflings, and dragonborn. Tumultuous volcanic activity and earthquakes are a part of life in Ma Zaan. A brutal war also rages between the dwarves and tieflings...and the evil horned ones are winning! The dragonborn have been enslaved and there is infighting among the dwarves.

The 167-page book includes:

  • Over 18 detailed settlements (villages, towns, and cities)
  • Unique lore, with a timeline included
  • More than 60 new monsters
  • Adventure hooks
  • Detailed map of the continent
  • Detailed geographic features
  • A unique pantheon with over 19 deities

First step is to make some maps of the settlements for the continent of Myrr. We're also improving the maps in the adventure modules. Then we'll look at some more maps for Ma Zaan. Most importantly, the world map of Myrr is almost ready. It will show all nine continents, including Myrr and Ma Zaan.

Quick question about Myrr & Ma Zaan. I know they're two seperate continents in the same world, but are they able to be playable together? Like, from a DM's side, could I prep the campaign world with both, and from a players side, could we just travel back and forth between the continents at whim.

Yeah they are part of the same world, two of nine continents. The world map is almost finished and when it is I'll add it to both books. For now there are a few ways to link them:

1) The easiest is to use a Riftgate from Ma Zaan. They are portals that can be used to travel all over the world and to other planes. See more info in the Ma Zaan book. There will be more of these portals on other continents and other ways to travel will be revealed.
2) The drow have a Riftgate in Varen on the far eastern side of Myrr. It goes to Ma Zaan, the DarkWorld area of the continent.
3) A sailing trip is another way. Although this is a long, epic journey. We're talking over 1000 miles!
4) Magic!
5) Intervention by a deity.

Thanks for your interest, let me know if you have other questions. If you friend me on Facebook I can add anyone to the Myrr page.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
