Foxtail Moor: Ruined Watchtower

High upon a rocky crag in the bleak landscape of Foxtail Moor, the ruined watchtower has stood there for centuries. Occassionally visited for the well in the courtyard that still draws fresh water, there have been more recent activities in the courtyard now, with the tent and camp of someone intent on exploring the ruins.

A printable battlemap compatible with any RPG/Dungeon-Crawl game. Use as a standalone gameboard, or combine with any same-scale tileset.

Contents: A 20 x 20 map depiciting a ruined and crumbling watchtower. The overgrown courtyard is surrounded by broken walls, and is home to a well-stocked tent of someone exploring the ruins. The watchtower itself is more intact, but still has collapsed walls and floors. The interior of the tent is also depicted on a separate overlay.

Also included is a 300dpi full size jpg, for poster printing or VTT. (n.b. gridless version only available as jpeg)

I like this Map except for the Adventurer's tent. Maybe you can make something to go over it, so its just a ruined watch tower.

The adventurer's tent is part of the narrative of this location - it's particularly useful for a specific D&D starter adventure

I'd still prefer not to have the tent. Anyway, I can slap something over it. Thanks.

Love it. - It's a shame that the D&D starter campaign (That it's clearly based on) doesn't have a map for this....

You said "no grid" in the no-grid map, but there is little into the watchtower ! Please don't let any grid when you said so.

Hi Arnaud. That's not a grid overlay. That's the pattern of the flagstones that were used in the tower. It's depicting that the original builders of the tower used square decorative flagstones.

Hello Joseph : I was in fact speaking about the dotten lines - that makes quite a kind of a grid, and it's hard to remove on photoshop !

Again, I think you're referring to the flagstones. They're not dotted lines - it the edges of the large flagstones that the decorative pattern covers. Just to double check we're talking about the same thing, have a look at the second image in the listing, and the part that says 'Crumbling Ruins'. That's what it should look like for you with the Gridless version. Are you seeing that?

Exactly ! This is as for HeroicMaps_Stone_Rift_Locations_The_Sentinel_Gate_NoGRID.jpg , where the dotten lines are not usefull at all. In fact, when we are looking for gridless map, i think you should avoid any mark, etch or scarr (sorry for the word, maybe not the good one) on the maps, because it looks like a little "grided" and we cannot use them without editing them after with programs. Thank for noting that and please go on for your very good job !

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
