Rockets and Rayguns and Martians... OH MY!

When the Elder Martians invaded Britain in 1894, they weren’t prepared for utter defeat. Nor that Britain would reverse-engineer their technology and spark a space race in the 1930s!

While Allied rockets powered by alien crystals explore the solar system and A.E.G.I.S. still holds the line against evil of every kind, a new threat - the Third Reich - has extended its grasp into space, using demonic technology & sinister weapons!

This supplement for the Airship Daedalus RPG has everything you need to add some classic sci-fi to your retro-pulp adventure:

  • New Worlds!
    Hollow Moon - Venus - Mars - Planet X
  • Alien Species!
Selenite - Lunari - Red Martian - many more!
  • Alien Creatures!
  • New Vehicles & Weapons!
including rockets, saucers and 21 types of raygun!
  • New NPCs!
including space pirates and Nazi werewolves!
  • Much More!
Alien PC rules - Mission briefings - Planetary maps

I love this product as well - enough to make it interesting and exciting, but not too much detail to completely overwhelm the reader. I have one negative comment - much as i love the equipment section I feel a bit uncomfortable to see that the Hughes ASA FB-12 Fighter-Bomber is clearly take from the SHADO lunar module carrier from Gerry Anderson's UFO series - the space between the tail booms where the lunar shuttle docks makes it even more obvious. Secondly the Lockheed AEGIS "Blue Lightning" Long Range Recon Special" is obviously taken from Thunderbird 3 from Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds TV show with one piece of piping removed and a couple of cockpit canopies stuck on.

I love this! The Aegis Interplanetary Guidebook is chock full space pulp and gives a fresh take on your favorite worlds that you have come to know and love from days past. The artwork is great and there is no shortage of it. I have poured over the plentiful pages of retro rocketships and rayguns, all of which have great individual illustrations. Several cool planets and the moon are fleshed out in good detail and are ready to be explored. Can't wait! My only concern is the fact that I purchased the pdf and can't find the awesome cover art anywhere. Am I just not finding it, or, do I really not get the cover with the PDF? If not, that will be disappointing.

Thanks so much for the wonderful compliments!
To answer your question about the covers, somehow they got left out of the digital package when we uploaded. A zip file including the front and back cover files has been added to the digital package. Cheers!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
