FAITH: A Garden in Hell

ZIP File

Gather your friends and prepare for adventure in a remote alien planet! Whether you’re new to roleplaying games, or just new to FAITH: the Sci-Fi RPG, this Starter Set is the perfect starting point.

This set allows you to get started right away, with a learn-as-you go scenario you can read aloud at your table. Get started within minutes!

Pre-generated character folios keep your character’s information right at your fingertips, while the player deck system, and the gear and non-player character cards keep you immersed in the story and allow you to manage your luck. The complete rules will allow you to design your own adventures and continue to play with your characters once you finish your adventures in Ujara.

The FAITH: A Garden in Hell Starter Set features a complete campaign for at least 7-12 gaming sessions that will take you to Ujara, an alien planet infested by Ravagers. As a brave member of the Coalition, your task is to not only defeat them, but extract enough information to turn the tides of the battle for the universe. Do you have what it takes?

FAITH: A Garden in Hell is a completely standalone experience for 2-5 players. It includes: 76-page campaign book, 36-page rulebook, 4 character folios, 54 gear and NPC cards, 4 large boss cards, and a campaign outline for the GM.

Background: The fragile truce between the Iz'kal and the Corvo had been compromised by a series of murderous attacks on far away settlements. Mutually Assured Destruction was days away as both species laid blame on each other... when the Battle of Izuan Tai shook the groundwork of the known Universe. It was the first big blow the legendary species of the Ravager would deliver to civilisation, but it wouldn't be the last. A new menace had awoken from a long sleep.

A Garden in Hell takes place 23 years after the Battle of Izuan Tai, where the rival Iz’Kal and Corvo species joined forces to stop the mutual threat and formed The Coalition. This entity has now become a “third state” independent of both the Iz’Kal and the Corvo, with emergency powers over all areas threatened by the Ravager.

On its last military council, the Coalition high command agreed it was time to leave their defensive stand and strike back in full force to capture a Ravager Queen. At first, the attack was a thundering success, but when the injured Ravager Queen entered the Labyrinth only your group was able to chase her unscathed deep into Ravager territory…

In A Garden in Hell you might...

...survive in the alien planet Ujara, fighting off its dangerous flora and fauna.

...set up camp with allies who will help in your endeavours. combat, diplomacy and reconnaissance missions. the Kira, the native species, whose lives are shaken by your arrival. the origins of the mutant Ravager, their motivations, and their goals.

...take advantage of their power struggles, as a Herald of Extinction revolts against her Queen.

...participate in an epic final showdown against the ultimate enemy.

...behold the awe-inspiring landscapes and alluring vistas of this GARDEN IN HELL.

Hello Burning Games. I am ready to buy this starter kit but I have a few concerns. Is this download updated with 2.0 rules. Also, is a player deck file provided for home printing? Thank you for your time and effort on this awesome looking system.

Hi Jacob,

This comes with 1.5 rules, which are a little bit more straightforward to pick up, 2.0 add some details but no major changes so this is fully compatible. No player deck file yet but we do plan to add one in the future, you can use regular poker cards though. Thank you for your nice words!

Are there any plans for releasing a PDF of the player card decks? I'd like to try print-and-play cards before committing to buying physical sets.

Hi Henry,

Not at the moment, we plan to release printable pdfs as we run out of stock of printed cards, but not earlier. From experience we've seen that it is often more expensive to print them out yourself than it is to buy a physical set though.

However, we would be happy to send you a low resolution version so that you can see which illustrations are included and you have a better idea of what you are getting. If you are interested, please send us an e-mail to info(at) and we'll get back to you soon!

This appears to have the old pre-errata version of the P-42 Sunshine card. Any chance you could update with the errata?

Does this include the 32 page rulebook described in the Kickstarter? How about the cards? If not, where can I find the rules and/or the cards?

Yes it does. This is a zip file containing the campaign booklet, the rulebook, the npc and gear cards, the boss cards, character folios and campaign outline.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
